Used to work in Japan and my visa is until 2011 but I am planning to file for my tax refund which means, I need to surrender my alien card and my visa will be void. My question is, can i still visit Japan with my 2 year greencard? My husband and I both like Tokyo and we are planning to go back there.

I don't see why not. You can still use your visa to enter - you don't need one to leave.
