Hello,

I hope you guys can help me. The interview is coming up and on the list of documents to take, they mention USC passport to prove citizenship (that'd be my husband). Now, he just told me today his passport is expired =/ and there's no time to renew it since it takes 4-6 weeks (his parents have his passport, why? no idea.. i guess he decided not to take it with him when he moved out.. like 10 years ago, ridiculous, i know!) NEways, my question is, do we take the expired passport with us? or is it really optional to take it? (we have his birth certificate, which proves his citizenship just like the passport) Do they actually need the passport or would it be fine just to take his birth certificate to prove his citizenship?

Thanks in advance!

I think the point is to see that he is a native born US Citizen, which the birth certificate proves. That should be enough.
