Okay, so about the passport photos. In p3, it does state that US passport photos are 50mmx50mm. But later in the paragraph, it also states, "The requirements are the same as those of Canadian passport photographs." I got myself a whole bunch passport photos from the Real Canadian Superstore. They accepted three photos for my medical no problem... but hearing you guys talking about "US style" passport photos that I know are square... now I'm doubting myself. Anyone want to shed some light on the situation for me?! My interview is on FRIDAY!

the size must be US size they say that The requirements are the same as those of Canadian passport photographs meaning the quality and standards (lighting, facial features an whatnot)

If you have the time, maybe you can get a new set of photos for the interview -- I think they would accept the ones for your medical bec the medical ones had to be US size as well -- I got 6 passport pictures, 3 for medical and 2 for interview and perhaps you did the same thing. If they accept the ones you used for your medical, you can still use unused passport pics for AOS (I believe you still need photos for that part!)

I forgot to tell the guy at Wal-Mart to use the American sizing... so I'm just going to cut them down to the proper size.

Okay, so I want to be sure there are no problems, so I will try to get the "US" size. I'm thinking of just cutting my "Canadian" ones down to size.... If that doesn't work out so well, I'll look into getting some new pictures done.

Did any of you guys go to some main-stream store (like Walmart or Costco) that offers passport photos and they actually print your pictures in the right size, or this a "special request" kinda deal that means I have to go to a specialty camera place?

The Wal-Mart here in town does the US sizing... I had it done for the original I-129F petition. I was just too occupied to remember to ask when I went to get my new ones done for the medical/interview.

I honestly can't see there being an issue with just cutting down the height of the Canadian size ones. If I can't do it right, I'll just get them redone (eek), but I think it should be okay long as everything's centralized in the photo as expected.

i got mine done at the real canadian superstore. they pretty much just took canadian ones and cut them down to the american size. i'm sure you could do the sizing yourself.

I hated that, was up at 3am to drive to TO with my family. Worst was they had to goto my mom's consulate (german) to start the stuff for her passport (the old consulate burnt down so they had none of her documentation anymore so it was like starting from scratch. I didnt realize they had already gone though and my medical was over really quickly, was about around 9ish, then I was left standing outside for an hour unable to get ahold of anyone because of course, no cellphones in the consulate. UGH! hopefully yours goes really quickly too.

CanAm - they can come inside with you but you don't go back to the waiting room until you are done in the TO one. Once they take you to start the paperwork most of your waiting is done either in the little hallway on the chairs or in a room waiting for the dr. Your dad can wait inside for you though, but be warned the parking there SUCKS!
