Just as the topic says... Do we need to have a US passport photo taken to submit with the DS230?

Thank you for this. The only place I can find that it states there need to be passport photos in on the 'Jamie's shortcuts' section of this website. In the forms we printed off from the US website I can't find where it states that you have to include passport photos. I'm assuming they need to be US size.

I didn't send any passport pics in with my DS-230 and haven't had an RFE requesting any. I sent it in about 4-6 weeks ago.

Sharo - you are right, you don't send them with the form, but you must have them to hand over at the interview - they want two photos

That explains why I couldn't find anything to say that we needed to submit photos with the form. My husband just got his passport photo taken (US size) last night and we asked for 4 copies, just to be sure we didn't have to have any more photos done.

Another question, you don't have to send any paperwork when you send in the DS230 do you? Just need all original documents and one photo copy of everything at interview-Is this correct?

Sharo,

Have you sent DS 230 and DS 2001 back yet? Do you have an interview date yet? Just wondering how long from when you send these two docs until they send you and interview date?

Sharo,

Have you sent DS 230 and DS 2001 back yet? Do you have an interview date yet? Just wondering how long from when you send these two docs until they send you and interview date?

I think it was just over 3 weeks from sending packet 3 back to getting our interview date. I ended up calling Department of State because I hadn't heard from the Embassy and then two days later the letter arrived in the post!

I think that the interview date is dependent on the leaving date you put on the checklist. I sent packet 3 in around mid August and our leaving (moving) date was October 5th (however we are still in the UK - very frustrating and long story). Anyway, my point is that my interview might have been set for when it was (September 14th) because I was due to move at the beginning of Oct. Does that make sense?

Haha guess that we could be in for a long wait then since I put down TBD for out travel date. Now why would I do something as crazy as that is my question of the day. D'oh!!

I have no idea why I did it especially since DH doesn't have ILR and his visa (and the kids for that matter) expires at the end of January  Hopefully it won't take too long to hear back from them!!

Angel...how did you get your NOA2 so fast? I filed the same date as you. I got my NOA1 in the mail on 8 Oct and I still sit here today waiting for my NOA2 so I can have my case number to schedule the Dr appt and send the forms in which are already prepared so we can get the interview going. We are due to leave on 30 Nov.

Thanks!

SunnyLee,

Evidently NOA1 was the email you received to say that they had received your case and were processing it. NOA2 was the letter that they send to say that you have been approved and the next steps to follow.

If you haven't had the letter through the post yet then I'm not sure why. We sent our package on 11 September and they sent our email to confirm receipt/take payment on 17 September. We didn't do anything special. Perhaps ours is just a more straight forward case?! I'm unsure?
