On the DS-156, it asks on the on-line questionnaire the city the passport was issued in. There is not one listed. How is that to be answered. Alos, it asks how long do you intend on staying in the US. we have filed for a K-1. The answer is permanantly but I am not sure that is what we are to put. Are you in England, Scotland or Ireland? Ian put the capitol city where he lives. I don't think they'll look for much more than that.

It does show "permanently" in the DS-156 example form: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-156.pdf (#26)

Have fun! Those forms can be a pain. Make sure you fill out ALL of DS230, except for the area where it says "DO NOT WRITE BELOW THE FOLLOWING LINE". The Embassy website says part 1 only, but Dyfed got a note asking him to fill out part 2, as well.

Ian and Lisa...Thank you so much for getting back to me. I have read all over this website that there were forms to be signed in front of the consulate. There is only one form, the DS-156K that states not to sign. The DS-230 Part1 has a place to sign as well as the DS-156. Does he need to sign those 2 forms and just wait to sign the DS-156k at the interview?

Thank you!

Hi! I am a bit concerned about my P3 as I still haven't received it from the London US Consulate... I filed my K-1 petition in May 2009 and got the NO2 on 15 September and the NVC letter on 23 September. I saw on your signature that you did not receive your P3 either but still managed to file it with the Consulate. How did you do that? Is it possible to file your P3 without receiving the P3 instructions? Thanks so much for advising me on this, I am starting to get worried...

All you need to make sure of is if the consulate has sent you a packet 3. You do not have to wait for it to arrive. All the P3 is a letter telling you to download forms. Has the police certificate been ordered? That is something that can be done immediately..
