Thats fine, but it wouldn't happen. Moderates have always been allowed in the republican party. Moderates in the dem party are attacked maligned and thrown out in the primaries. I'm not a republican so it doesn't matter to me.

Here in California, the Far Right Republicans went after the handful of Republicans who voted with our Republican Governor and the Democratic majority in the Legislature - I believe a Recall effort is under way against those bad Republicans for ending the budget deadlock. The Far Right's ideology is not one of tolerance, Joseph. In fact, they're quite Facist when it comes to having a position....there's only one and it's there's alone.

If thats true of Republicans (which it isn't as is proven by Snowe, McCain, Graham, as WAS proven by Lincoln Chaffey, and the like) then it is most definitely true of Dems, if not worse. So where does that leave us? Moot issue? I think so.

Show me an example of Democrats starting recall efforts against fellow Democrats for not towing the line. Sorry, Joseph, but the Far Right by design is intolerant and rigid. Liberalism by design is open to change and ideas. That's the difference. There may be hardliner Lefties who are intolerant bastards, but most often, those guys are so Left, they bumping into Right.

Show me pro-life democrats in the senate.. Show me a viable pro-life democrat in any of the Presidential races? And when I say pro-life, you need voting records to prove it. Many of them say, "I'm prolife, but I support a women's right to choose" sorry, wrong answer.

There are many "pro-choice" republicans. (ie Giuliani who was a contender last election, and many in the house and senate)

Those repubs in Cali were being attacked because they supported raising taxes (if i'm not mistaken) which is going against a holy sacrament for Republicans (i.e. not raising taxes). So, no i don't blame them. Its their right to try a recall. We tried and failed to recall some dems here in Michigan along with the Governor. Unfortunately the liberal judicial system here threw out the petitions. However, Lieberman was thrown out in the primaries (by his party) and still won. He was a democrat on EVERY issue except he supported the war. And bam, he's thrown out of the party.
