Of course its the welfare system - after all, there must always be a villain for people to shake their fists at

A larger problem of course might be chronic underfunding in the education system (going back decades). What incentive is there to be a teacher when you have to use your own money to buy classroom supplies.

So your villain is people who aren't funding the school. I guess you have your villains to shake your fist at as well.

Well done Joe - you got your obligatory #######-for-tat in there. Marvellous!

Cut illegal immigration and we'll see better results.

California would rather shut their schools down than not cater of illegals.

Check out each states ranking in terms of education:

By the way, what is the minimum age you can drop out from school here? It was 16 in my state of Victoria.

That age is 18 years old in Dallas, TX.

Oh please. Blaming welfare for everything under the sun is a tired ideological (and yes, right wing) cliche.

At least put the emphasis of blame where blame is due - failing education systems are always attributable to deficient funding and/or bad, incompetent stewardship.

It may be true my good man. But you too have your villain.

Joe, you really are desperate for your gotcha moments aren't you?

No matter how silly they are, or how petty and silly they make you look.

I've never cared how it looks. The point is that you were rolling your eyes at people who blame welfare, and yet you're complaining that its because the schools are underfunded. You too have a villain you want to cast judgement on as well. Thats all.
