I'm gonna rent a U-Haul and put the rest in my car. My fiance's helping me move and my mom's coming with me.

Will it be a problem at the border that I have 2 vehicles with my stuff? I just figure we'll all go into secondary.

Not at all, if I recall correctly Julybride had 3 vehicles with her!

haha wow. i guess it's no surprise that the women moving have more stuff than the dudes.

my fiancee is going to give away his furniture and things like that, but he is a musician and has tons of instruments, pedals, keyboards...his computer. expensive stuff. that is too heavy to take on a plane but much less than a studio apartment worth. we're trying to figure out the best course of action. :\

That is the same predicament for me as well, I wouldn't be able to fill a 10ft truck even, or a ABF. SK has no access to PODS or ABF though! A minivan size would be perfect for me! But unfortunately its going to be just me and my car. LOL.

Does your fiance have family that could rent a minivan or something? Not many rental car places do the one way rentals though, but it would be worth a shot to ask. May be cheaper than the smallest 10ft Uhaul truck. Also a little "birdie" told me that Uhaul will rent their cargo vans for 1 way moves, even though on their website it is listed for in-town only.
