I hope you all don't mind if I ask you how my fellow Brits went about getting their Police record in the UK?

I have ages of waiting left in this process but I thought I could be proactive in chasing this up.

Any help you can give me would be much appreciated x

6/05/06 - Mailed off the I29f

06/20/06 - Cheque cashed

7/07/06 - Still not received NOA1. Call CSC. They have input our address incorrectly. Give them the correct details. Also find out what our case number is from them so can check for touches!

07/13/06 - Receive RFE

07/26/06 - Email confirmation they have RFE

07/27/06 - Touched

08/23/07 - Call CSC to find out where NOA1 is and what date was on it. As it was sent to the wrong address it came back as undeliverable. They will not send it out again unless we send them a written request. However date was;

06/09/06 - NOA1

09/07/06 - NOA2 email confirmation

09/28/06 - NVC say they have sent details to US Embassy in London

12/09/06 - Sent back packet 3 recorded delivery

10/30/06 - Medical

11/06/06 - Interview confirmed 1st December!

01/17/07 - Wedding booked in Vegas

Just go to your local police station and ask them for the form you need to request a copy of your 'Prosecution/Conviction' record. They'll give you what you need. On the form tick the box that says you need information for 'Prosecutions/Convictions' then sit back and wait! It usually takes around 30-40 days, so you're doing the right thing by getting it done early. Mine arrived four days before my interview. Many fingernails were bitten. :)

Think this is double post but best bet is to use the US london embassy site as they have very detailed instructions on what is required and how to go about it. Also that site gives you list of forms you will get in packet 3. Fiancee and I downloaded them and filled them out already. Now when she gets packet 3 all she has to do is copy the info to the originals sent in packet 3 and follow instructions therein to return it to embassy. We also have already gotten her police check done (dont forget if fiancee has lived in other country for 1 year or more he/she will need police check from there to and it takes significantly longer in most other countries)
