Moving personal belongings to the US

Well for some reason I am making multiple posts on here today.

When I moved over I had been living in Ireland for 12 years so even though I am a Brit my life/belongings were all in a town in Wexford.

I am sure this applies equally to the UK and probably most other countries.

When I flew in I brought 12 plastic storage containers, like the link below, with me. The cost was WAY below what it would cost to have them freighted over. I flew Aer Lingus to New York (JFK) and switched to Jet Blue down to Palm Beach, total cost $50 per container. I would think freight would be about 5-10 times more expensive.

So, when looking to ship in tons of stuff try to fly with it. The cost is less and the customs is WAY easier.

Now the story of getting 12 containers off a plane and through the airport is something I will release in conjunction with Stephen King as a horror book, "Th Journey".

If you are bringing in furniture too then grab a 20' container. Gives you TONS of room and no limit on weight etc although certain things cannot be packed in there; aerosols, gasoline, obvious stuff.

Oh, I also shipped a car over but that probably has no relevance to 99% of people on here so I wont bore you. Shout if this is something you need help on.
