I have a question regarding visa expiry date:

Background:

I'm on J-1 in US. Married to USC and applying for AOS.

Expiry date on my I-94 is: D/S

My J-1 expired on: May-05

My Ds-2019 will expire on: July-20th

Question:

On I-130 Question-14 ask for "Date authorized stay expired, or will expire, as shown on Form I-94 or I-95" what should I write there: "D/S" or my DS-2019 expiry date that is "July-20th" ???

On I-485 Part-1 ask for "Expires On", Is this about visa or I-94? what should I write there: "D/S" or my DS-2019 expiry date that is "July-20th" ???

Thanks for the help!!!

Write D/S, that's what the I-94 says.

I think that is about the current USCIS status. I would either write D/S or July 20. The expiration date of your J-1 Visa itself is meaningless, that's the date by which you needed to enter the US.

1- I'm also confused between, if it is about current USCIS status (that is J-1) or about I-94. Because if it is about I-94 then I should write down "D/S" and if it is about current USCIS status then I should write "July-20".

2- Moreover, Even if my DS-2019 expires on July-20th, I can still stay legally till August-20th. Should I not write August-20?

Thanks for your time!!!
