I will be applying for an adjustment of status. The form I-485 says that I have to maintain the status that I came to the US under (F1). I have done everything required but did not know I have to change address everytime I move. I just found out about this yesterday and immediately changed address online with USCIS. This is bad because I have moved to many places with my wife and we are using bills sent to those addresses for evidence. These are also listed in the G325. What can I do to prevent this from having my adjustment of status declined for this reason.

hm.. do you happen to have copies of the leases in the different place you've lived?

maybe that can be of proof to Homeland Security/USCIS that you have lived in these different places but weren't aware that you had to submit change of address to Homeland Security.

It's an honest mistake and you weren't aware.

I'm surprised that your school didn't request you to submit the change of address form to Homeland Security when you changed add. I'm also an F-1 int'l student and my school registration has requested me to submit that form every time I update them w/ change of add.

It probably will not be an issue, since you updated your address now.

I wouldn't worry about it. (your history is on the G-325)

Concur about the school not telling you the rules... strange..

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Thank you for the posts. We were able to live in our apartments without a lease. The apartment manager has agreed to write us a letter stating that we lived in his properties during those times. He also said he would be willing to write a lease covering those dates. If he writes up leases for those times, would they be considered forgeries? At this time, we only have a lease for our current house. Also, my 2008 W2 was sent to the wrong address so I had to go pick it up from the university. I used to W2 with the wrong address to file taxes. Will it cause problems if USCIS sees that the W2, from the IRS tax transcript does not match the G325. There are so many things to worry about, thanks for your suggestions.
