I think he's partially right. Right Wingers, in general, are not the ones you'll find in libraries or universities reading volumes of academic books. They like their TV and their cheap beer...and news shows that will take complex issues and dumb them down to emotional soundbites so it's clear which team to root for and which one to boo at.

Wow would you mind getting off your pedestal and coming down here so I can share my cheap beer with you, I think you will like it. :jest:

Its accurate though, but it isn't just true of the right wing, but anyone who tries to defend a ###### corporate TV network as some sort of political bastion. The very idea is idiotic.

"Liberals are very broadminded: they are always willing to give careful consideration to both sides of the same side."

Yeah and generalisations are cheap, plentiful and useless. Imagine that "mr conservative", as that's what you must surely be.

Its shame our resident billionaire social science guru isn't here to explain this, but do you know what the essential difference is between the way that children and adults look at the world?

popularity isn't really a good gauge for quality.

no sh!t look who running the country.....until the next election cycle anyway.

Mike, although Obama is incredibly popular, he also ran on a populist agenda. As much as it irks the Right Wingers, Obama won because of his position on healthcare, the environment, Iraq war, economy, etc., jived with the majority of Americans.

Steven, thats where we're going to disagree. he WAS so popular because the media kept pumping him 24/7. it was like a 6 month campaign commercial. Obama getting elected was a knee jerk reaction plain & simple. if he had not run for the dem nomination, Hillary would be president right now. we will see another knee jerk reaction during the next elections

Children only see the world in black and white terms.

Childish arguments abound when it comes to politics. All these attempts at clever little mnemonics trying to distill peoples views into one of two camps is just rank stupidity.

You think many people voted for Obama but disagreed with his agenda?

I imagine so, yes.

I would have voted for Obama (if I could), even though I disagree with many of his policies.

For many people, McCain/Palin just wasn't an option.

Well, according to polls on the key issues such as health care and the economy, those numbers are right in line with the percentage of votes Obama received in the election.

This topic is great, fox news is the fairest from both sides. i watch it every morn , and always catch hannity and oreilly. I think alot of the ppl here on vj, petitioning for fiancees over sees with exception to europe of course should be conservative minded people.

I ve been to the philippines several times ( i do not consider just going to manila the ph) go to negros , or any other small island. the people are all catholic conservative minded. In these areas of ph i dont believe a die hard liberal would survive . or be compatible with any woman here.

im sure this will lite this board up LOL.

it is what it is.

say what you will as i wont check this post again.

have fun.

Can I ask why anyone bothers to watch or listen to these commentators?

Does anyone actually like their analysis and interviewing?

I like Cavuto. OReilly and Shepard Smith crack me up. I listen to Hannity's radio show, but not on a daily basis. Greta drives me nuts and so does Beck.

O'Reilly, Hannity and Olberman aren't even pretending to be objective because their programs are opinion/editorial based, which is fine as long as O'Reilly along with Murdoch don't pretend that the 'Fair and Balanced' umbrella applies to all of Fox News programs, which is essentially your argument. :) They market the whole network as being objective and that is the absurdity of it. I haven't heard Keith Olberman state that he is being objective....but O'Reilly.... ...he's an animal all by himself.

You just proved BY's point.

I bet you never even watched O'Reilly's show once - yet you're calling him an animal based on a couple of YouTube videos taken out of context.

Seriously. Steve you should try watching him sometime. He drove me nuts until about 2yrs ago when I actually watched a full program. He's actually really funny and has great guests.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
