At that point, the Consul Officer required my fiancée to submit another original page 3 of my I-129F before she received her K-1 Fiancée Visa...only this next time with an "X" in the box asking whether or not I had ever been convicted of any felonies (nope, no crimes). Apparently, the Consul Officer didn't care about all of the other unchecked boxes. I guess the CO (correctly) assumed that I was male.

I like how he also assumed (correctly) that you are not a Nazi war criminal or whatever other stupid questions were skipped.

He doesn't know this, and USCIS did a background check on him. I doubt the adjudicator "missed" it, he had documentation that he wasn't convicted of....whatever...being a Nazi War Criminal.

In this case, if you had to make the mistake anyway, the adjudicator did you a favor. An RFE would have delayed your case much longer than one week.

Okay, I pulled a bone head maneuver.

I just got confirmation that our I-129f packet was received, so I decided to look at my papers again, and realized that in the place where I was supposed to put my middle name, I only placed my initial.

Am I hosed or because my SSN and Birth Certificate are enclosed am I panicking for nothing?

BTW I am the USC.

Dave

Honestly I think it depends on the adjudicator .... you could possibly get a RFE ... there really isn't anything you can do now but wait to see ... I actually made a error on my G-325A ... small mistake like yours as well ... in the box where you check what kind of visa being applied for I put I-129 on mine and I-129F on my fiancee... will all depend on the adjudicator I think :(

Aren't both of these incorrect? You may have submitted form I-129F but it was for a K1 Visa.

huh

If the question is "What visa are you applying for" neither "I-129" nor "I-129F" are valid answers. There is no visa called the I-129F visa. I-129F is a form. K-1 is a visa. Right?

Correct, but there IS an I-129 and it is not the same as an I-129f

Thanks for all the responses. I guess the #######-retentive in me got the upper hand. There is too much riding on these documents to allow me to relax.

Dave

P.S. For what it's worth, from what I have read on this site, the I-129f is the petition to apply for the Visa, and the actuall Visa application takes place at the Embassy level. That was my reason for using the verbage I did.

Your "PS" is correct.

But now you have another problem...you have to sit around and THINK of something ELSE to worry about!

That shouldn't be a problem...I have a note book of things to worry about on this process... I'll just check this item off my list. Now to find a delivery pizza that taste like homemade :D
