Stuck at NVC but has interview schedule

Please help. I'm really worried because this is my 2nd interview date. My husband and I rescheduled my interview because we're still waiting for my TIN and his recent income tax return transcript. Do you know how long it would take to get a TIN? My 2nd interview date is on May 4th, 2009 and until now, we still don't have those things. Consequently, I can't send my DS230. Am I right? I just wonder how it would be to have the interview when things are not done yet in NVC. Is there anyone here who already have interview dates, but haven't completed their case in NVC?

Can I send DS230 before AOS directly from the Philippines to NVC?

Please help. I am really worried and this process is making me sick.

Is ther anyone of you who applied for TIN? How long did it take you? Can you think of other option for us.

I had a false RFE before about my DS230. The NVC operator said that i need to redo it but since our case was almost complete, she said i could just take the DS230 with me to the Embassy on my interview day because they said by the time that they receive the DS230, they might have already sent our documents to the USEM. I'm thinking since they were suggesting me to bring the DS230 to the embassy , maybe you could do the same thing also.. OR to make sure, why not call the NVC and ask them about it? ...

Oh thanks for the immediate response. So, what about the supporting documents that I have to submit together with DS230? Should I also bring them with me?

I think you have the CR1 and K3 visa processes confused. With a K3 visa there is nothing to submit to the NVC. The only DS forms will be a DS-156 and DS-157 submitted at the interview.

The above pinned K1 Visa guide is pretty similar to the K3 process with a few exceptions.

To address the TIN, it takes about 2 months or longer. You should plan on taking a copy of the 2008 tax return and W2 forms to the interview.

I really don't understand and forgive me I'm confused why you have to get TIN. When I submitted my DS230, the guide didn't say anything about TIN. Or maybe that's the requirement for K3?

If you're working on your CR1 just like what we're doing, I'm pretty sure your TIN isn't needed for submitting DS230.

My husband applied for my TIN so he can file as married in his recent income tax. :-( I told him to just apply as single but he insisted on it.

My husband and I had to face the same ordeal too. What he did, he just filed for TAX as "married filing separately". He said it costs a lot of money filing that way but we will get the money back once we complete visa and get our ssn by filing an amended tax return from "married filing separately" to "married filing jointly".

Wew! If it will take 2 months, we have to wait so long. I have been telling my husband not to wait for my TIN, but he is very firm on waiting for it before he takes any action. I'm being so desperate about the case. He has been on base (USAF) and the processing has been hard for us, since communication is very limited. Now that we are here, he doesn't want us to take the easiet way. I'm getting sad about the situation. But, my decision is to wait for him to decide on the matter. I have said it many times, but he is very firm about his decision to wait for my TIN. Just please pray for us. And, if you have any suggestions about our situation, please feel free to write.
