Thanks for everyone's help. I finally got the DL but had to call them again and run down there near closing time. Almost missed it. Tomorrow I can go on post and sort out Military ID. I will look at the links for the security freeze, thanks for the info there.

In the end they didn't require photo copies of my green card. I couldn't get them anyway, not even from Deers. In future I'll be making copies anyway but can only hope this never happens again. My wallet was probably just thrown away is what gets to me. I have still to go ahead and fill in the I-90 and pay the fee. Thanks everyone, very appreciated.

First off, you should contact your husband's unit and explain what happened so you can get someone to sponsor you on base to replace your ID card. Then call the ID card issue place and ask what the process is to replace a stolen dependant ID card. You might have to file an on base police report but that varies service to service. Make sure they are clear on what documents to bring such as passport, marriage license and any other supporting paperwork.

This process shouldn't take more than one day. With your new ID card you should be able to get your driver's license replaced.

Thanks, I managed to get DL without Military ID and finally got Military ID today. All was reported to the police also.

I have filed the I-90 form also for a replacement Resident card. All falling into place now at last! What a nightmare!

Couldn't even enjoy my daughter's first birthday with this going on. I will be sure to take photocopies of everything too and would advise anyone to do it.
