Proof of employment

Hello everyone. I have just recieved notice thru email that they are sending out my I-864 packet. My concern is that my job is ending in June 2009. I will probably be on unemployment for awhile unless I can pick up another job.

My taxes are in the poverty guideline for eligibility. But with my job ending, is this going to be a problem? I have read that I have to get a letter head from my employer showing that I am currently employed. Should I just get it now with the date probably being a little lapsed by the time I get the packet together and tax forms to send back? I know that my company won't just leave the dateline blank. It's just too big of a corporation. Is the proof employment mandatory?

thanks,

martinbr

Pay stubs should be sufficient. Most people get a letter if they don't have sufficient pay stubs to show employment.

My question is though, if I don't get this part wrapped up in the next 3 months and I don't have a job yet, Can I still continue on unemployment insurance for use as income?
