Show me where a total collapse of the economy has been a good thing. Germany in the early 1930's? Nah, that brought us Hitler. The US in 1929? Nah, WWII is what ended the Great Depression, not any miracle government action. If nothing is done, you can't even imagine what things would be like. Something has to be done, the big question is what and in what areas. Just because it didn't work in Japan doesn't mean it won't work here. I am one of the few here that doesn't worship everything Japanese and I do have faith in Americans and America. You are certainley free to expect doom and gloom and it may well happen. I chose to think and believe otherwise. Negative thinking and actions get us nowhere. Don't focus on the problem, focus on the solution. A wise old wizard once said, don't look for what isn't there, but focus on what is.

The WWI settlement and the terms put on Germany brought us Hitler and for that matter the U.S. getting involved brought us Hitler.

England had more to do with accepting Hitler's postiion than the US did. England rubber stamped his first "peaceful conquests".

If you would read I said the U.S. gettting involved in WWI, if we wouldn't have got involved it would probably been a stalemate and Germany would have receive more favorable terms.

By the time England let Hitler take parts of Europe he was already fully in power.
