Return flight, or not?

Hi

I have been living and working in Mexico for just over 2 years. I was going to travel to Dallas next week to spend time with Renee and her 2 boys for Spring Break.

The U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez has said that I can go for the medical and interview.

I am now thinking that I should fly on Sunday, as before, but not return to Mexico and fly to El Paso from Dallas, Texas in 2 weeks time. Cross the border, take the medical, interview, collect K1 visa and cross back into El Paso with the K1.

What do you all think? Does this sound too easy?
