I must admit to playing the azzhat on some of the 'bank' phishing scams - I follow the link and login using user names like 'Micheal Mouse', 'Ivor Beegun', 'Yuren Ideote' and passwords like 'chopf###', 'dumazz', 'URAMOr0n' then fill in loads of rubbish details - I just want them to waste their time looking for M Mouse's account at XXX bank.

I only ever replied directly to one, telling them to study harder in English, and Fraud 101 cos their spelling and grammer, not to mention their research, sucked big time

VERY clever .... reminds me of what i do with my junk mail:

you get a piece of junk mail ... usually soliciting something. WELL .... if it comes with a 'postage paid' bulk stamp on it (for your response) ... i cut up everything that came in the original envelope (including the original envelope) and put it in the postage paid one and mail it back to them!! trick is with the postage paid envelopes ... the company only gets charged for the returned mail! so i DO make sure i give them a response!!!

if you have some spare time and want to read the great story (28pages) that welshie alluded to: this link documenting possibly the best eBay scammer scam ever pulled off involving a fake escrow site, a hijacked eBay account, FedEx pacakge tracking, overseas cameraphone spies, a revenge fulfilling duty tax, and the eventual delivery of a one of a kind P-P-P-Powerbook !! Revenge is sweet…especially when it costs the scammer £350.
