any suggestions or recommendations?

Can't say as I know any, although they're bound to be super-crazy expensive that close in. Moscow has an excellent metro system though, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a hotel near one of the metro stations. Then she can just hop on to the metro and connect to the Кольцева́ line. From there she'll need to exit at the Краснопресненская station, just a couple blocks from the embassy.
