Different name in passport & Birth Certificate

Timeline

We hav a situation. We will be filing for my mother-in-law soon. The proble is that her name my wife's birth cerificate and her (mom)'s passport is different.

She is got affidiative saying that both of those names are for same person. Would that be enough or do we need to provide any other documents?

You will need documents to show the legal change of name. so if changed by a marriage then a marriage certificate, if divorced the a divorce papers, if just a legal name change the court papers showing the legal change.

The Instruction pages of the I-130 explain what to do if those documents are not available.

I-130 petition for Sibling

07-19-2012: Sent I-130 via Priority mail

07-23-2012: I-130 received by PHX lbx (forwarded to california)

07-23-2012: Priority date

07-30-2012: I-797 receipt received

1. CR1 [Completed: 2009/Total Days: 325]

2. ROC [Completed: 2011/Total Days: 222]

3. CITIZENSHIP [Completed: 2012/Total Days: 125]

4. US PASSPORT [Completed: 2012/Total Days: ]
