Regarding the CFO counseling. I see its 250 pesos for the counseling fee but also if I'm reading this right, my fiancee needs to pay authorized registration fee after she comes back to have the sticker on her visa (she plans to attend before the visa is issued)? How much is this later fee? any more fees she needs to pay related to the counseling?

Just a quick question for those who have already attended the interview..does my fiancee needs to bring her x-rays with her for the big day? She's asking me that question. Aloha!

No need to bring x-ray results on interview day.

i paid another 400 pesos for the green certificate (guidance and counselling certificate) in the CFO main office. i hope no more fee to be paid when i come back for the sticker.

i saw your timeline and we have same interview with your fiancee, give my goodluck to her and for sure we will all meet there at the US embassy.

lets hope for an easy interview and quick visa delivery!

aloha for your response. she told me that someone told her there will be a long line early in the morning of the interview. many of the fiancees have the same appointment time. did not know that. some start to line up as early as 2 am. wonder if this is true. i suppose interview numbers are giving once the embassy is opened starting with the first person in line.

Hi Cora,

Thats not correct. Jasmin was issued a new passport and it was not expiring...she turned in the old one...they issued a new one and gave her back the old one also with an invalidation stamp on it....the embassy even asked her for the old passport at the interview. We had initially requested amendment but there was a posting here in VJ about it at the time so we got the ne passport.

Jazzy

No it not necessary to go to cfo for that. Just go to where you got the passport, with your nso marraige paper. Tell them you want a NEW passport...some offices will tell you you just need a stamp or something in the old passport, or try to convince you you dont need to change it to married name (i dont know why they do this...we pay for it). Anyway, you just get a new passport with married name. Not changing it will not present problems so long as you have your marraige papers. We had it changed so that the name would match across the board...and in my opinion...makes the marraige look more sincere.

Our Dept. of Foreign Affairs will only issue a new passport if the old one is expiring in 6 months or if the old one is lost or stolen. Having a new passport issued while an old one is still valid falls under "multiple possession", an offense that is punishable by fine and imprisonment. http://www.dfa.gov.ph/consular/faq.htm

If a married woman choses to adopt her married name, requesting an amendment to the passport is the way to go.

Oakwell, its been nice meeting your wife at the medical exam in st lukes. Good luck on your interview.

good news Jazzy and congrats!

Mira is going for her medical on Monday, maybe they will see each other. Good luck.

I went at st lukes for my medical exam at 7.30am and was finished by 12.15pm. The long wait is at the 5th floor where physical exam is done, but its still okay though i was able to finish by lunch time. Thanks PW, jazzy, vhi and soulmate for all the info and help. The guideline made by sheriff did a lot of help too , thanks. To those who have shared their experiences, thanks too. I prepared for my medical certificate and histopath results so that everything went well.

I'll be back tomorrow for the result at 9am. Good luck to those who will have their medical exam and interview.

Good Morning

I tried posting for this Manila Embassy forum but I am not sure how to I think I just posted on the General Embassy forum. I just need a little advice from all of you guys. I have a K1 petition and my fiance is in the Philippines too. He received his packet4 for his upcoming interview. He has the printed DS 156 form, I was going thru the Embassy website and they said we have to use the EVAF or the online DS 156. Is this what we have to use and disregard the printed fomr the was sent by the embassy? Please help. Your advice will be greatly appreciated. By the way thanks for sharing some valuable knowledge to all the readers and members of VJ.

Please do it online. No sense taking any unnecessary chances. They clearly ask that you do it online. Do it and remove one possible doubt.
