Manila Embassy Interview

A Question to everyone preparing for interview:

When I sent all needed documents to Jinky, I kept the originals of all receipts, boarding passes (proof of meeting in person) thinking that the copies submitted with the original I-129F were sufficient.

I have the originals here with me and my thinking (at the time I mailed her the documents) was keep them here for fear if they were to get lost.

For those who already went through the interview - were you asked to show them the original boarding passes, receipts or were copies accepted?

I'm planning on mailing the originals to her on Monday via express mail, but it does worry me that she'll be carrying with her all this documentation, some of which we can't replace should it get lost or taken.

Any advice would much appreciated! :star:

Thanks! :)

^it is not necessary to send originals for those things. copies will be great. besides...they probably won't ask for it anyways. at the interview, they will usually look at pictures and snail mail cards. well, that's what happened in my then-fiance's case.

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...

Good Day Fellow VJers!!

Jennie completed her medical exam 1/17-18 this week and everything looks great. During the immunization she was told that SLEC does not give the TD (Tetanus/Diphtheria) vaccine and she would have to get it when she gets to the US. I am guessing that this vaccine is necessary for AOS, correct?

I asked my physician here about that vaccine and whether the vaccine can be given during pregnancy. I was told "ABSOLUTELY NOT". The only time a doctor would give that to a pregnant woman is when she cuts herself...say with a rusty nail...and there is the risk of infection.

So my question is....

What if she gets pregnant right away upon entering the US and is unable to get the vaccine for AOS? Will they still approve AOS based on this? Any thoughts or experiences on this?

Thank you.

Michael

I did some research on the vaccines myself and I believe there is a risk with MMR and Varicela vaccines but not TD. Your doc is probably just being conservative. I think the vaccinations for AOS are given "as appropriate" so I think the AOS doc has some leeway on this and would not hold up AOS for that reason.

And the more we talk about it I realize that they wont cancel the medical exam for being pregnant either. It's not like they will send her home for being pregnant and not able to complete the vaccines, right?? RIGHT???

No it's not a problem. They will get a pregnancy test the first day. My fiancee's cousin was 4 months pregnant at her exam.

Since it is a "slow news day" in the Manila forum, I'll share that last night Jenalyn and I got married. We were married by the Camp Hill Mayor at the Cornerstone Coffee House (and wedding chapel) and then everybody walked down the street to the Lebanese restaurant for a feast (complete with belly dancers) prepared by Mike the owner. Not exactly a "traditional" wedding night, but it was a blast, and everybody and a great time (some more then others based upon the number of wine bottles we went through).

Congrats... nothing wrong with doing a non-traditional wedding. Most wedding I have been to have been boring and everyone was only waiting for the reception anyway...

We r still deciding on whether to go to Mauii, Vegas or New Orleans... Madi Gras wedding would be somethign to remember lol. Ken
