11th hour jitters my Hon is trying to organize her documents for the interview and is looking for some suggestions on how to prepare all of the forms and evidence.

any tips from the people who have been through the interview would be greatly appreciated.

i haven't been tru interview yet. here's a link to asawa forum archives which has a helpful thread about that,

http://www.asawa.org/asawa/viewtopic.php?t=13237

Quick question,

What does the $18 payment get me for the PIN? Manila has my case, and we are waiting for Package 4? Will they be able to give me an idea when Tita will be scheduled? Thank you.

you will not receive packet 4 till after you have been scheduled an interview. the call center will probably tell you it will be 120 to 150 days from the date your petition arrived at the Embassy to be scheduled an interview. from your timeline your looking at possibly Feb, if not then March interview.

no charge for the info. :D

looks like the January interviews are out. congrats to roundbo, trey n roxy, and glen & rosemarie.

Can the call center people tell me if my packet has been received at the Embassy? They don't answer my emails.

you can also try calling the Embassy at 011-63-2-528-6300 ext 5184 or 5184. best time to call 7:30 to 8:00am Manila time. that's how I found out the date our petition arrived at the Embassy.

Trey n Roxy,

Guess we will see each other at the Embassy, because Churchita and I have our interview the same day, January 11, 7:00 AM. I plan on being there for the interview and then we will ask the CO if we can pick up the visa the next day. Finally, the waiting is over.

Sillygirl, please update my timeline, too.

God be with all of us as we continue on this journey towards a lifetime of love.

Hey guys and gals, I'd like to congratulate those of you that have been approved and wish luck to those still waiting. My fiance' was approved for her K-1 visa yesterday(Nov.16) and reported smooth sailing thru the entire interview process. I feel she was lucky, as she arrived at the embassy late, at 8:00 AM, and due to miscommunication, she downloaded and printed out the DS156 but wrote in the information by hand. I certainly don't recommend anyone else do those things, but it shows that not everything is written in stone. She said that she was also told that some forms from my side of the operation were missing but she could not remember what they were. Knowing her as I do, I suspect that she just wanted me to feel a little bad for not doing something right but know that she was able to take care of it for us. See, we have been in our relationship for 17 years, and know each other well. When the immigration officer learned this fact he simply said "You need wait no more", and gave her approval. He then asked her some questions regarding the long term of our pre-marital relationship, just out of curiosity, he assured her. We had to overcome some unique obstacles in the course of the visa process, but have passed this one finally! BTW, she said the look on the window clerks face was priceless when asked for photos and letters, as she had a huge album and a stack of letters saved throughout our 17 years! Good luck all, and thanks for the help! Particular thanks to Malambing and to Uling, a welcome source of fact-based information among a sea of speculation!

They do answer emails.... but just that when they receive your file. I emailed them before and they answered me right away because our file was with them already. Well im not sure if it applies to other persons as well, but speaking for myself , they do answer emails and questions.

If she has the MNL case number and the NOA2, along with fee, photos, passport, she can go ahead and complete medical. Without the NOA2 or Appointment letter the guard will harass and refuse entry.

A couple questions:

What might "Extended port of entry" mean?

We are doing practice questions for the interview and that one came up. Any ideas?

Elaine will be going to Manila on Friday her time, so the day after tomorrow, and then she will try to get into the medical exam earlier than the 27th.

...does she need to make some calls to reschedule the medical appointment? or is is first come first serve?

I think the medical is the luck of the draw. My wife had day 1 on the 15th, it was busy but she got everything done, they just told her to come back today for the results. She is complaining of long waits today just to get results.

BJZags - Was your fiancee able to complete the medical exam an vaccination the same day?

That would be a big negative sheriff Uling. Originally she thought she wasn't going to need any vaccinations which is why she thought maybe she'd be done in one day. Turns out the second-day for the vaccinations was even longer then her initial medical on the first day. And I'm not sure, but due to the "pain" she expressed, it seems like they adminster the vaccinations with cattle prods or something.

Hi! My husband has k3 visa interivew on Nov. 28th at 7am! I will be there with him for the interview

together, and hope we will see you there. :)

Hello VJ family,

I have a question regarding plane tickets. My fiancé is coming to attend my visa interview and wants to pick me up once i get my visa. My question is, can he buy my ticket in the U.S. so we will for sure be on the same flight back? will it cause any problems? Do I have to wait and buy my flight in Manila and pay taxes to the Philippines? Or can my fiancé just go ahead and buy a round trip ticket for both of us, and I just use the part of the ticket that takes me to the U.S. with him? That way he can save some money and get the tickets now.

Please give us an idea on if you had done the same thing before. Thanks a lot.

Any inputs would be highly appreciated. :D
