thanks roy!!!!!!!thats what i was thinking. i think this question was pertaining to port of entry or deportation... ugh i knew it. paranoia taking its toll!!!!! i think im about to throw up.

hey so my fiance is going to get his shots today. he said the Nurse or doctor said that they will be administering the MMR shot on him. i told him to ask them if they can give him a tetanus and diptheria shot as well since has already been paid for. hehehe i hope they give it so we dont have to scramble to find someone here to give it to him for the price of an arm and a leg.

roy, i dropped the ball... sorry hahahahah

So did he say how he felt standing in line with all those ladies? :hehe:

It was probably very weird...

that would be nice to get all the shots needed at St. Luke's but the tetanus shot is 2-part...and they don't offer the 2nd part shot there.

for the AOS...you SHOULD complete all the required vaccines...but i read on other people's application that they just sent the vaccination forms they got at the hospital in their country and did not get an RFE for it.

anyways, to be on the safe side...my fiance got the other part of the vaccine. unfortunately, the civil surgeon that we went to (which is actually my doctor too) will not accept an XRAY report/result from St. Lukes (and besides, it didn't come with it anyways.) we couldn't find a radiology center who will read the St. Lukes xray (they won't read an xray film that is not theirs)...so anyway to avoid any more hassle and waiting, he just had another xray done and the results were sent to the civil surgeon... long story short...after $150 bucks for the civil surgeon and $65 for the new xray...we finally got the sealed I-693 supplement envelope last week.

It was probably very weird...

probably not since family- & employment-based petitions will have to go through a medical. although if you're talking only of k1 or k3...then yeah, it was kinda weird for my fiance...but he did met one other guy on a K1 visa that day.

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...

Wow, now i'm really depressed :( Called the USE, they said no updates. She explained to me that nothing was wrong with our documents and that it was waiting to be reviewed again. I asked her then why is it being reviewed, no real answer. Problem is she said that cases from Aug haven't been reviewed yet. If so that would put us about a month and a half away. On the bright side it sounds like it won't get denied. But i wanted my fiancee to be here by Thanksgiving :(

my prayers are with you and your fiance wind. i hope all things get sorted out soon.... wishing for a speedy approval...

as for the question whether he felt uncomfortable? hahaha i dont know but he said he thinks he was the only one GUY there who was doing a K1 Visa. the rest were ladies. he said there were other men there but it wasnt for the USE, some overseas workers who went there in a big batch for other consulates. he got "inspected" by a guy doctor. he said he was lucky to have been called to room number 3, guy on room number two was not too friendly...

I've been married before (via K1 Visa) but got divorced when things didn't work out, so I wasn't able to process my Adjustment of Status (I-485), so I went back to the Philippines, After 2 years, I met my fiancee and he petitioned me (K1 also). During my interview on July 28, 2006, I was asked to submit a copy of my previous I-485 (Adjustment of Status) but I don't have a copy of it so I just submitted a letter of explaination last Aug 31, 2006. I just called the US Embassy Manila and they said "It is still under review. Just wait." Is this document required for approval? Cannot they look up that information in their system? I made a request to the National Records Center for a copy of my I-485 I submitted back in 2001 from my first marriage but the doc request list waiting time is so long (1yr). What should I do next?

ANY WORKING DAY APPOINTMENT: HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am appealing to the helpful and knowledgeable people here. Just got news from the USE that a telegram

was sent out to my Fiance' telling her to appear at ST. Luckes ASAP due to aging out of one of her kid.

When I call the USE myself I was told that she should appear at SLEC and go to window F to get her package and do her medical along with her son. My questions are as follows:

(1) How can i complete the Packet#4 if i dont have it, Can we download and fill it up ahead of time?

(2) Tax returns....I did mine at Jackson Hewit....can i use those or i have to get actaul transcripts from IRS?

(3) Savings....hardly any in the bank at the moment...I make a huge salary but no savings...should i be able to show money in the bank?

(4) ahhh...another thing....she forgot to put her OLD first name in the "other names used" section of the

original application.....we obviously will put that on the Packet4 info with a cover letter explaining why she did put it and back it up with docs.

(5) Does she need my financials for the SLEC appointment?

REALLY need help....mind racing 100 mph......Thanks .

Excuse typos....my fiance' has me shaken up with her excitement

the game ball should be given to PatientyWaiting for all her helpful info and maintaining the list.
Unfortunately for me, the umpire (consul) gave me a technical foul and my penalty is to sit it out until next year :clock::cry: BOO-HOO! Anyway, I’ll be happy to watch my teammates pass the ball around and root for all of you while I’m at the sidelines.
Uhhmm pede ba magrequest ng Adobong Kangkong with Kamayan Bagoong??? :P:crying: miss na miss ko na yan eh, walang kangkong dito, nalibot ko na buong GA  .

Hi Rebel, good to hear from you again. And to reward you for your loyalty, here’s your adobong kangkong with bagoong.

PW please update our infor to Manl received 11 Oct 06 and packet 1 received 30 oct 06, just need the intervew now. Congrats to all those approved. Payato

Payato (is your name supposed to be “Payatot” meaning thin to the bones?) Anyway, regarding your request, Manila beneficiaries do not get packet 1. We go straight to packet 4. However, Manila Embassy now sends out a one-page letter advising beneficiaries the date they received the physical file from NVC. Is this what your fiancee received? Packet 4 is very thick, it contains more than 10 sheets of instructions and forms and your fiancee does not receive this until her interview is scheduled. You are now number 55, up from 57 because your case number is lower. Hmm, I just realized that I have the power to promote and demote people here  hehehe

NOTICE: Hey guys & gals, my fiance is arriving on Sunday so that means I will be out of commission here starting Nov. 13. It's lovey-dovey time for me :luv: Do I hear a volunteer for maintaining our list while I’m gone? I will be back on November 27. Gee I hope I won’t be reading 100 pages of new posts when I come back! :reading:

Fortunately for you, the embassy was able to catch the aging out. If you were able to read the case of Jo&John in this thread, that could have alerted you that you can request for expedited processing. If there are any of you out there on K1 with children who are turning 21 in less than a year, you can request for expedited processing at USCIS and embassy level. For K3s, the cut-off date for children is 18 years old (or the stepchild-stepparent relationship should happen before age 18).

To answer your questions:

1) You can fill up the forms later since it won't be needed during medical. Concentrate on the medical first. And yes, you can download the DS forms and fill it ahead of time.

2) A fax copy of your latest W2 and ITR are acceptable. Embassy does not usually require the IRS transcripts except probably if you lost your W2 copy and ITR. Don't forget that your I-134 should be notarized.

http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwh3217.html

Form I-134 Affidavit of Support.

The I-134 Affidavit of Support is required for returning residents (SB-1), fiancé(e)s or spouses of U.S. citizens (K1, K3), children of K1 and K3 applicants, spouses and children of LPRs, applicants with special immigrant status, and follow-to-join derivative family members of employment-based (E) applicants. A copy of the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return (Form 1040) should accompany the I-134. Fax copies of the ITR are acceptable.

3) A bank letter should be okay even if you only have less than $100 in it as long as there is activity monthly. Have the bank list down the total debits and credits for the year (e.g. total credits for the year is $50,000 total debits is $49,900). This would show the embassy that money does come in. Maybe include the date you opened the account so you can show you've held it for a number of years.

4) She can write down the "OTHER NAMES USED" in the forms that she will fill up before the interview and you are right, bring documents to back it up in case there is question.

5) No, she will not need your financial documents at St. Lukes. She just needs to bring her old x-rays, old vaccination records if available, 3 pcs. 2x2 photos, passport and she's all set to go. She will need to bring also the equivalent in Philippine pesos of $95 per person for the medical and vaccination. This is all that I can remember for now. Check out Uling's and sillygirl's signatures and click the medical appointment. Everything you and your fiancee need to know for the medical will be there.

Good luck.

Fortunately for you, the embassy was able to catch the aging out. If you were able to read the case of Jo&John in this thread, that could have alerted you that you can request for expedited processing. If there are any of you out there on K1 with children who are turning 21 in less than a year, you can request for expedited processing at USCIS and embassy level. For K3s, the cut-off date for children is 18 years old (or the stepchild-stepparent relationship should happen before age 18).

PatientlyWaiting.......Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how much you have helped me. Thanks again. So you are saying that I dont necessarily have to have thousands of dollars in my account...which I dont at the moment buy My salary is WAYYYYYYYYYY up there? Oh, another question...do u think she should bring up the other names used question or just supply the name on the forms and leave it at that? My thinking is that it should be brought up and explained that it was a silly mistake...which it was and show the supporting docs so they know she had nothing to hide.....what do you think?

just in guys, half an hour ago,i got a text message from my boytoy. he said he was done with his medical... they found him positive...

positive on good looks. ugh i hated him for that long pause. it got me all worked up. then again after the good looks part, i calmed down a little bit and found it to be quite funny :) thanks for your prayers guys. everything else went fine. one down ... flight then interview... ackkk!!!

btw, how much do we have in the YYB is going to faint pot? do i get a cut? hahaha

i asked him to request TD shots from st lukes. apparently the do not administer it anymore... guess they had to cut down on the budget. hayayay... we know a doctor in the philippines who can give him the t/d shots. we just have to purchase the meds from mercury drug. i think we are going to go that route. aside from T/D and Hepatitis B what other shots should be administered? opinions of experienced couples?

thanks guys. Uling , i hope wilma is okay. hahahahha... just read your post about administering the check up... NO COMMENT hahahahahha... TIGANG!!!! hihihihihi

PW, Yes my nickname is short for Payatot. When I lived in the Philippines we had a pool team and the last "T" fell off my shirt and it kinda of stuck after that. I understand the Leter versus packet 1, just didn't know what to call it. The letter did get the blood pumping though.

Congrats on your fiancee' arrival and enjoy. Payato

Yup, you don’t need to have thousands of $$ in the bank. Your ITR/W2 is what they would be looking at. You only need to show that you are above poverty level and able to support your fiancee and her children. You would also need to send her a letter from your employer stating your hire date, your position, current salary, etc. Bank statement or title to real property (if you own property) are just additional support evidence which they don’t usually ask for but we always have ready just in case.

Regarding the second question, rule of thumb when dealing with the embassy is “answer only what is asked or do not offer info that is not asked.” If I were in your fiancee’s shoe, I would list down the “other names used” in the visa application form and leave it at that. If the consul does not bring it up with me, I will not bring it up either. But I will be prepared to answer “my fiance forgot to put my other name in his petition” in case the consul does bring it up. I would also bring support documents to back me up which is what your fiancee is doing.

After all the waiting, now you are on the fast-track and we can feel the heart-racing excitement you must be feeling right now. We are happy for you!

Jhen (Wilma) just called me about an hour ago from the bathroom (sneaking in a quick call so she could hear my voice and calm down... awwwww). My Baby completed all of the preliminary testing and was preparing for the medical exam (take it off... take it off... LOL!!!) I'm betting that she will be done in about an hour. I feel bad for her because all week she has to get up early and basically wait around to get things done. It's all about sacrafice... Right? I'm going to call SLEC and ask them to give her shoots in her puwet so it will be soar. That way I can have something to laugh about. LOL!!! (I'm just joking...) :D

My Baby called... SLEC day 1 is complete and all went well... She was so happy because the doctor who performed the medical exam was very nice and talked to her like a girlfriend. The day was really draining and she's very tired. Anyway, day 2 awaits... Good night and Cheers!!!

PatientlyWaiting.......Regarding the "rule of thumb" I know generally one does not volunteer information but

I was told that in this instance I should attach a cover sheet to explain the omission of the old first name....my thinking is; what if they find out after that she had a previous first name? that is where I am confused. what if after the interview and they do their little checks they find out that she has a Old first name even if it was not brought up by the officer. The fact that we put it on the DS forms would that be enough even if they ask nothing about it? Just so confused about this
