Greeting from Titakey!

Leonardo had his interview on Fri -Sept 22.

Everything seemed to go well. The usual questions, etc.

"Why do you want to marry her?"

He said, "well of course I LOVE HER and she is so beautiful!"

Awww.

But they are requiring additional documents from the NBI to verify that

there is no criminal record.

He finished at the embassy in plenty of time to go the NBI and requested the document,

then picked it up on Monday. But noticed a clerical error of his birthdate.

So now he has to return back to the NBI before he can take the document

back to the embassy.

Arrrrg! Seems like unnecessary torture! But should know something in the next day or two.

The good news is that they asked for payment for Delbros. So to us that looks like a good sign!

Continue to pray for a good outcome!

I paid my visa fee in Philippine Pesos ($100 x the prevailing exchage rate) and I was not asked to present the embassy letter or NOA2 (but I brought it with me just in case). I presented my filled up DS 157 form but BPI did not accept that. They provided me with their own blank DS form and printed the transaction at the back plus they gave me a transaction slip.

I brought mine with me too but i didn't even get to present it. When I told them I'm paying for the USE interview fee, the teller immediately took out their form. Now, have to fill up one form all over again. Lol

I just got off the phone with csc and they say my petition is in the staging area to be sent out to the embassy.....

Damn its been approved since 9/7 and they are just now about to send it out to manila, she said they send the petitions out in a batch and sometimes it takes a while for them to get the appropriate amount of petitions together to send them.

Question? When they finally send it to the embassy who will be notified of the petition arriving in manila will it be me (petitioner) or my fiancee (Benificiary).

And at that time how will we know the case number assigned to the petition?

I am so glad i found a way to call csc directly instead of going through the nightmare of uscis misinformation line.

CSC doesn't send your paperwork to the embassy in Manila. They send it to NVC in New Hampshire. NVC in turn puts their stamp on it and sends it to the Embassy in Manila. They send an electronic version and a hard copy version. Once NVC forwards your file to Manila, they will send you a letter stating that it has been sent to Manila and give you the case number. You can get more information about NVC in the NVC forum. I hope this helps. The petitioner in the US gets the letter with the case number.

When the embassy receives the file, they are now sending a letter the the beneficiary stating the date they received the petition from NVC, and that an interview should be coming within 120 days of the date they received the file. In our case, she received the letter from the embassy almost 3-weeks after the paperwork arrived in Manila.

I dont guess anyone noticed my previous post asking for some insight into the "APPROVAL" status after the interview.

This is my question!

How can you know for certain if you are approved after your interview?

The reason i ask is b/c my Fiancee had her interview yesterday on 9-25-06 and she was told to wait to be called again after the consular asked her alot of questions during her interview, so she thought she wasnt through with her interview, but in fact it turned out she was! Therfore, she did not ask if she was approved.

She did notice however that their was a printed out cardboard like sheet on top of all her documents that said "IV APPROVED" She went and paid the DELBROS fee, etc...

From all i have read b4 on these forums, they indicate that even if you pay the DELBROS fee, that still doesnt mean that you are approved. So i am trying to figure out, if even the CONSULAR officer doesnt say your approved, are you?

I wanted to get some insight from those who have already had an INTERVIEW. Any help that you can provide to alleviate my ulcer would be much appreciated!

My Fiancee had her interview yesterday on Sept 25, 2006... She said that she answered all questions correctly and wasnt told by the consular if she was approved or not. She did however pay the delbros fee and she said that there was a stamp like "IV Approved" on her documents.

My question is this, from all that i have read on these forums, is it a possibility that she could not receive her visa without the "definate" "YES" from the consular? I mean the possibility of being on AR?

I really hope she is approved. If you guys have any comforting words, or thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Judging from other people's posts, 95% of the time, if someone sees the "Approved" sticker, a visa will be issued in a few days. There were others, however, who were told they were approved only to realize later that they were put on AR. Paying the Delbros fee is not a guarantee that one is approved. I was put on AR but they told me to pay the Delbros fee just the same.

More often than not, a visa is eventually issued to beneficiaries who are put on AR. AR can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks (normal cases).

Hershey, I think your fiancee is approved. If she does not receive the visa in 10 days, that's when you start worrying. In the meantime, savor the thought that your fiancee saw the "Approved" sticker. That means she's 95% approved!

This is my question!

How can you know for certain if you are approved after your interview?

After my interview with the consul, I asked him if I am approved and he said yes and just to wait for your number to be called and the visa will be issued shortly. I saw him put an approved sticker on my folder. At the releasing section, I again saw the sticker there on my folder. It said "Approved K Visa."

From what I read in your post, I would believe you are approved.

I am not sure if it was a sticker that she had seen. She says it was a 3x7 white card, like a note card, that said "IV-APPROVED" Is this the sticker that you are referring too?
