i know this was months back but somebody was saying that buying one-way flights from a travel agency in the philippines was cheaper than booking it online (especially if it's first time flying internationally.) i checked through PAL online...from Cebu-LAX is around $758 one-way. that sounds good yeah?

Hi Mychelle,

Try www.orbitz.com also if you want to buy a ticket to LAX on line. Departing 1 Nov., the flight from Cebu to LAX via PAL costs PHP 666 Net.

the squeaky wheel gets the grease. and i know how to squeak :P

Yay Danoco, I guess they'll never hear the end of it until after Yove is naturalized :P:D

Glad to hear from you again. You made me laugh today hahaha

I downloaded it from the same website but that was in January this year or six months ago. It is possible that they may have updated the on-line form. The downloadable forms were not available from the Manila Embassy website when I applied for visa so I just googled the forms and found the evisaforms.state.gov website. I do not remember seeing the barcode in my application form but then I could also be mistaken. I’ll take a look at my files tonight.

Update: The downloaded forms I filled up and submitted to the embassy did not have a barcode. I would guess that the current downloadable forms that prints the barcode automatically is the updated version so there shouldn't be any problems with it.

I was going to post that Orbitz doesn't do flights to the US but they changed it. I tried about 4 months ago and they didn't, but i tried today and it's a pretty good price.

Does anyone know the current wait time for an interview?

I spoke with the US Emabassy in Manila (Immigrant Visa Unit) (011 632 528 6300 ext 5184/5185) the week of July 10th and I was informed that interviews were being schedule anywhere from 120 - 150 days once they receive an approved K1 Visa petition from the NVC.

Hey Uling,

Who gave you the nickname "Uling"? I find that cute. Uling is Tagalog for charcoal. Is that your sweetie's pet name for you? Do you want to be included in our Manila "waiting list"?

I gave myself that "nickname" when I was in the Phil this past April. As you may know, everywhere in the Phil there are signs saying "ULING FOR SALE!" Since I'm Black, I thought it would be a funny joke. So while I was in the Phil, I introduced myself as "ULING!" LOL! As far as your third question, once I receive my NOA2, I will gladly add myself to the waiting list.

3-4 months? Thats getting better. One small good thing to come out of IMBRA. They got a chance to catch up. I am hoping that my NOA2 in a few weeks. From the looks of things it takes 3 weeks from NOA2 to Manila getting it. 3 months from then would put me about....Mid to end of November. It would be so cool to get Luz here before the end of the year. The big wild card is when my NOA2 will come.
