Manila Embassy Interview

heya rebelheart, heya everyone!

well, we just got back from our honeymoon (L)

anyhow, regarding the civil surgeon/vaccination form, this link may be useful:

http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/i-693faq.htm#vac

HI jeeleebee!! how you've been???

regarding about vaccines, yes its covered in the fee you'd paid st. lukes ... i remember ive got 1 shot of MMR and Td should be taken here in US. as for pricing of Td shot in US, its FREE you could get it in local center, i did got it on our family doctor.

On the contrary, when st' lukes DS form of vaccines check the completed series of my vaccines like MMR, the civil surgeon of USCIS here in the US says, they require 2 shots of MMR eventhough i explained and point the form, st. lukes checked i am immune and completed the series of MMR even it 1 shots.

I cannot complain about it because they were the "registered" civil surgeon of USCIS, that will complete your form for AOS. But things ive done is .. i go back to our family doctor and take a blood test (titer) to see if im immune or not to take a 2nd shot of MMR because its really expensive doing the vaccines here in US specially with the registered civil surgeon of USCIS.

about k2, as for my son ... he took skintest here in US for TB testing and need to complete vaccines before his school starts.

regards to everyone!

**************************

More smoother doing stuff in Manila to start K1 or K3 .... most painful to process for us is the AOS thing now. It's like starting the K1 again and asking for more documents ...... and soooo expensive

also check out this link under the Forms & Fees section for the I-693A Vaccination Supplement which is what we need

Manila Embassy has updated their website as of today. Packets may now be downloaded from their site.

http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/rp1/wwwh3227.html

I think that the links to check on the interview dats, and download applications are all broken and non functioning. I sent the embassy a email telling them that they have been broken for the past few days. I wonder if any of you guys have experienced the same thing?

I'm confused on this, maybe i should be asking the AOS forum but since it's brought up i'll ask a question :P Unless i'm reading this wrong doesn't this mean under the K-1 visa we don't need to goto a USCIS civil surgeon? Or at least not a exam.

Statement from the directions in the I-485:

Fiancé(e)s.

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

i think i found my answer.

Ks: If you were admitted to the United States as a fiance(e) (K-1), child of a fiance(e) (K-2), Spouse of a U.S. citizen (K-3), or child of K-3 (K-4), and received a medical examination prior to admission, then you do not require another medical examination as long as your application for adjustment of status (Form I-485) is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. You will, however, be required to submit a vaccination supplement with our adjustment of status application. The vaccination supplement must be completed by a designated civil surgeon.

hi windchaser

yah in Manila case, you need to visit USCIS civil surgeon for the supplement for bcos Td shot will taken only in US. not unlike from other country they got their vaccine complete in their country b4 going in US, so they dont need soemtimes to visit civil surgeon they could auto submit the vaccine record from their home country.

usually it takes $20 only for transfer of vaccine records to the supplement form u need. but Td shot is free that you could get it in local clinic, other vaccines if u need to have is more lower fee outside than a designated civil surgeon.

Hi guys,

I picked up my packet 4 this morning from St. Lukes Ext Manila, but to my suprise it doesn't have the appointment date and medical date in my appointment letter. Is this common?

I asked one of the staff and he told me that I need to call the Embassy call center. Now I'm starting to get confused because I think the main reason why they are giving you the appointment letteris to INFORM you your APPOINTMENT DATE and basically medical date(w/c I was also told that I can do it after receiving the papers). Please enlighten me with this one. As much as possible I'm trying to avoid calling the call center bec its causing me a penny.. (I'm not stingy but Im just to be wise ).

Thanks.

Hi Brittaniquec,

Your appointment letter did not contain a date since you wanted to get an early medical ~ ahead of what the NVC wants to schedule for you. The blank date means you can show up at your own convenience.

Your interview date was also left blank because NVC has not set the date yet. Asking for early medical or advance packet does not mean that the interview will also be scheduled ahead of time just so the appointment letter can show a date.

Remember, what you picked up from St. Lukes is "advance" packet. The reason why the "real" packets are not delivered months in advance is because the embassy has to wait for the appointment set by the NVC so the embassy can input those info in our appointment letter.

Updated to add mychelle’s packet receipt date.

Actually I didnt literally ask for an early appointment date I just asked them if they can drop the packet to st. lukes instead of sending it to my home address :(. Bdw, I did this through calling st. lukes .

I called the ff number 528-6300 ext 5184 and 1-9097-101-7878; they gave me different feedbacks. Based from the customer service call center if the support from this 528-6300 ext 5184 told me to go back to st. lukes for a new appointment letter then I should follow the said lady. Actually the customer support from the 528-6300 ext 5184 gave me a very surprising date which I'm thinking that she got confused with the details (bec she's not real happy of me calling to this number; according to her this number is just for other countries and I admit that it's my fault :hehe: ). Now I'm still at lost. I think a wise decision should be going back to St. Lukes tom morning without any assurance of getting a new appointment letter with appoinment date. Sigh!? waste of time and waste of money in the name of love. :(

hi brit!

did you call the customer service number first before you called St. Luke's and requested for your packet? I'm no expert but like PW said, the embassy might not yet have an interview date for you that's why you got a packet with no appointment letter. And with no appointment letter, you can not have an advance medical exam. I called the customer service center first and only when i was sure that i have an interview date already, that's the only time i went to saint luke's and equested for my packet. I got my packet with the appointment letter.

In my case, I called the customer service center first and only when i was sure that i have an interview date already did i request for my packet at St. Luke's. I got my packet with the appointment letter stating my interview and medical date.

Nope. What I did is I called st. lukes and asked them if I could make a request to them that I'm going to get my packet from their end and not to have an early appt date but their response to me was to call the next day to check if my request is possible. I did that; and after calling them they told me that I can pick it up last thursday and I'm soooo glad about it (that's a natural reaction I guess  ) but I didnt think that I will receive an appoinment letter without an appointment date. Actually I did wait for a couple of days before going there just to be sure that my packet is already there and it's there but appointment letter has no appt date.

The customer suppport from the call center mentioned to me that my appointment date is still blank and told me to follow the instructions of the customer support from the local number. The mind boggling thing to me is why their dbase is not in synch, quite unusual huh!? and that leads me to the idea that the customer support of the local number got messed -up somehow and gave me the wrong interview date.

Anyway, I'm just going to call st. lukes tom afternoon to ask if my new appoinment letter is already there just to save time.

Thanks sillygirl.
