Manila Embassy Interview

Hello yogi,

For packet contents, click on the link below:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...st=0#entry19310

The packet contains a list of BPI branches that accept visa fee payments.

There are many pension houses in Manila but none that I can recommend as I've never tried them myself. Maybe other VJ members have ideas?

hello everyone

I have a question..My step son is going to have the interview on June 1st. we had the packet sent to a friend that lives in Manila..

What forms are in the packet? I want to fill them out cause I have to send some other documents so I will send the filled out packet forms also when them

Also is their a Bank of the Philippines Islands close to the embasy or a citibank?

what about a hotel that is not too expenive so I can have my Mother in law and step son stay in.

any other suggestions cause my step son lives in Mindinao...

You only need the NBI clearance. Other clearances would only be required if you lived in another country.

We did try to encourage the "lurkers" to get themselves listed. Maybe, they're too shy, I don't know. I'll try to keep this thread alive until after we're done with the May interviews. And if we don't get any additional listing, we don't have much choice but to just let this thread die a natural death...

... but someone else can resuscitate it later :innocent:

Don't worry, i'll be waiting for awhile. People at the NSO in Manila do nothing fast, they said they would send my fiancee's BC back to the LR for over 3 weeks now and they haven't. They keep saying "oh, we will send it tomorrow maybe" Very annoying for us cause we are just waiting on them so we can get a new interivew date. We've tried to explain that but they really don't care :( We were hoping for August but i don't see that happening now :clock::cry: Hehe, always bad news!

i hate to say it windchaser but i think the only way to get this done is to pay them money it may be the only way to get it done. corruption is everywhere youve been doin it the proper way and its not goin anywhere i think offering them money is your only option to get them to do there jobs. sad to say it but it looks like otherwise your spinning your wheels

p.s. yove arrived last night :D thank you to everyone for all there helpful info

Hi Jazzy! How's your annulment going along? Are you applying for K1 again soon?

You only need the NBI clearance. Other clearances would only be required if you lived in another country.

Hi rustyash! Thanks for providing us with your case number. I agree with John_and_Marlene, you only need NBI clearance. This clearance covers the entire Philippine islands.

i can recommend a hotel near u.s embassy its southern cross hotel tel no. 025212013 i stayed there during my interview last december its a new hotel or jualiano hotel but sorry i dont have number its affordable and clean.

Yogi, Southern Cross looks decent. Below is a link I found for them.

Southern Cross Hotel

1125 M.H. Del Pilar St., Ermita, Manila

http://www.allaboutasia.com.au/philippines/southx.htm

Below is the tel. and address for Hotel Juliano. I did not find a website for them.

Hotel Juliano

TEL 521-1296 Fax 522-3280

11-7 L.Guerrero St.,Ermita City of Manila

I found this website with a list of hotels near the US Embassy. Choose hotels that has “Ermita” as address. They’re the ones nearest the embassy.

http://www.metropolitanph.com/hotelinfo1.html

Wind, as much as I hate the word bribe, Danoco is right, your fiancee may have to do this to get things moving. I know that the NSO allows people to hand-carry the document from LR to NSO and vice-versa, if the price is right. Maybe your fiancee can offer to hand-carry the document. Grrr, I just hate these corrupt government people.

Hey Danoco, I'm sure you're dancing around :dance: since Yove is back in your arms. Say hi to her for us.

Updated to add rusty_ash’s Manila case number.

Here is some info for everyone. Rosemarie passed her physcial today

4,940 pesos payable in cash at St Lukes

She stayed at a hotel near the ctr for 1,300 peso a nite, but I forgot to ask the name.

She showed up at 0430 for the first day and still got a ticket with number 50

Was out of there by 1;30 pm the first day, 12;30 the next day. She received 2 vaccines on her second day

I dont agree with some posters about the usefulness of info from this board ; this is why. The problems get started with the orginal visa petition here in the states . So if you have submitted sketchy information, or partial information it is allready too late.

Now I am not knocking any of this. We are all in this together and this board is full of great people and great info , but the devil is in the details and how the orginal info and petition is submitted. This is my humble opinon

I would not get any documents to early, espically not sending over the I-134 before you get your notice from consulate for your interview date, or real close to that date.

Good luck to all ; we are online for May 16 th for the interview

regards

ok guys a couple of questions....

how does the payment for the visa work? my fiancee pays at a bank and they stamp the ds-156 or 157? or do they give her a seperate stamp?

also has anyone ever been turn down for not using the barcode printed out version of the ds-156/157? It is fine to just fill out the forms the embassy sent right?

thanks guys.

also i have to add that i think this is one of the most reliable threads for information because it is more focused than other threads and people usually only speak from experience. Plus we have a great moderator (PW) :-)
