So I got something in the mail today from USCIS, and was thrilled until I discovered it was a rejection notice because I'd apparently used an outdated version of the form (I suck, apparently.). Anyway, there was no mention of my I-485 or anything in the letter, although it does say if my I-484 is accepted, I can refile my I-797 for no cost as long as I submit a copy of my NoA acceptance . . . when I receive it.

I'm a little freaked out now, even though I know I re-did the previous forms on fresh downloads from the USCIS site right before I sent my AoS packet, which was a little under two weeks ago now. I keep telling myself that if the entire thing was rejected for some reason, they would have sent it all back and I would have gotten it either the same day or in the same envelope. Yes? No? Am I worried for nothing? Is a rejection of a 797 for an outdated form a potential roadblock for the AoS itself, or should I just take a breath and refile the form when I get my NoA?

Any similar experiences? They would have saved me a huge amount of stress if they'd included anything else like, "Hey, don't worry, your other forms were fine." Man I hope I don't come home tomorrow from the fair to a rejection notice.

I guess the moral of this one is ALWAYS CHECK THE SITE FOR FORMS. This was just me being stupid, but save yourself the headache and take another look right before you send your stuff.

"Your mom is in my head right now, and she's saying don't do that."

"For Sale. One Parachute . Used only once, never been opened. Small stain."

I've read a lot of posts pertaining to this problem about rejection of I-765 due to outdated form....Don't worry, just send the new I-765 form from USCIS website and include all neccessary supporting documents for your I-765. Your I-485 application has nothing to do with your I-765 rejection.... good luck! Just follow the instruction...

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
