Hey Brother Wasabi,

Welcome back to the States and good luck on the interview!

Well...I can understand your feelings. In all honesty, the last 15 months haven't been the proudest months in Thai history. The country really has been struggling since the coup...as I'm sure you've well witnessed.

My teerak left Thailand shortly after the coup...and honestly...she's very upset with the condition of the country now, as compared to only a few years ago.

Blessing to you for successful interview(s) <job & consulate>!

Brother MarkNAAm

Just two days away from the interview, my fiancée is a bit nervous. I feel far more confident since we've done our homework and there have been some optimistic reports coming from the embassy over the past two weeks.

Good Luck Brother Pete,

From what you've told us, it sounds like your interview is going to be a slam-dunk success! We all look forward to hearing about it in a couple days!

I'm pretty nervous myself, but my fiancee is definitely more calm. I can't wait for this to be over with so I can hopefully bring Kat back with me. I'd sure hate to fly back to the U.S. alone. We spent the morning going over evidence and preparing for the interview. Less than 2 days away as well. My fiancee will likely see yours at the embassy on Thursday. I hope there is something to help me pass the time while I am waiting outside. We're at Som's Guesthouse on Sukhumvit Soi 22, BTW.

I know its hard to do but really try to enjoy it... You are way prepared and legit. Since the recent change in interviewers pretty much everyone who is on this forum has passed through with no problems. I really think you will be fine. Go have some fun. Take your girl shopping!! ;)

Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it (and so does my fiancee who is tired of me worrying right now) but I'm a worrier. Not much I can do about that I guess. I'll only be able to breathe a sigh of relief once she has the visa in her hand, or at least an approval note from the embassy. It's been dawning on me how important this day (18th) really is.

Chada told me a little story about meeting someone at the interview. Both girls were not let in during lunch so they went across the street and ate together. After that they went back and the other girl interviewed first. The details were hard to understand but the jest of it was the embassy knew that the petitioner was still married and living with his wife. (tax forms???). At the window they asked the beneficiary many times if she knew about it. She said no every time. They denied the visa of course. As Chada walked back to the BTS with her she said the girl was not upset AT ALL and when the girl talked to someone on the phone it was no surprise at all when she got denied. I explained what fraud meant and Chada said yes of course the embassy knew it and the girl knew it.. SHe just wanted to come to America.

I tell this story to put contrast the amount of preparation, attention to detail and legitimacy of relationship we have as compared with some of the off the wall ####### the embassy must see on a daily basis.

I wonder how much she paid that guy to claim he was engaged to her. Crazy.
