I logged on to my local british police website (Warwickshire) - they have a form DP7 (data protection) downloadable. You'll need to click through FREEDOM OF INFORMATION > DATA PROTECTION > then click on the DP7 link. You can print this out. Then send in to the given police HQ with your £10.00 cheque. Mine took approx, 40 days.

It looks like each regional police force follow a slightly different policy. I had only to produce some bills with my address on. No passport or driving license asked for.

Jees' someone could steal my identity so easily.........

I think your right.. the link to the warwickshire form above is a very simlar form, only with a warwickshire constabulary logo and layout instead of a gmp (greater manchester) police layout.. i think the countersign is probably just a measure gmp introduced..

munchkins on the previous page said..

Please also remember that if you do have any convictions on there that you will also need what is called a "Memorandum of conviction" from the court where the offences were tried and these cost £8.00 each..

Where and how do i get one of these ? it isnt mentioned in packet 3.. apart from a breif 'court report' section.. but the police woman said that its all included with the paperwork i get back from the police certificate.. i have a conviction from 2001.. do i just write to the court for a court report ??

Thanks

Russell :)

Hi Russell, yes all you have to do to get the Memorandum(Court report) is write a letter to the court where the offence was given and quote the offence crime reference which should be on the police records or if you have not got that but can remember the date and offence, write to them or phone them. I phoned first for one for my hubby and they told me exactly who to write to
