Hey Guys:

Just an update. I just got back from India yesterday. Was there only for a week. Jet lagged. Went there to get my prize. AND YES :thumbs: , my fiancee is with me. Hard as it is to believe, she is laying next to me (no kidding), taking her beauty rest. She is just petered out from the long flight, the time diff. Her body clock is off.

JFK was my POE. It was a breeze. No questions asked. Got the EAD card, too. They just give it to you. Don't need it yet though as I want her to take it easy for a bit.

Dilbert/Moksha/Gagan - saw that you guys got approved, too. Congratulations. And Karri and Sam - saw that your 221g got approved too. That is great news. Happy for all of you.

Here's to our best days ahead of us with our SOs. I will drink to that. :dance::dance::dance::dance:

lol. My prize will arrive in 9 days and I'm going to spoil him rotten. =D Do you have any idea how hard it is to plan an American wedding in less than a month? I managed to crank out most of the details in the last 36 hours and I'm so exhausted. Even found a girl to do my henna. =D Should I surprise Sam with our honeymoon location or shall I let him in on the secret? Haven't decided yet lol. Where abouts do you live Classicrock? How is the climate there? I'm trying to prepare Sam with the forecast for the 19th, he's going to be bringing his jacket. =D

I can imagine. You must have been busy with the 221g and all thrown down your way as well. Definitely spoil him and yourself, too. After all we have gone through with this visa stuff, I think we all deserve it. Don't you think I would keep the honey moon location a secret. Keep him guessing. It will add to the fun I think.

Carolina is always on my mind not just James Taylor's. Get it. I live in NC. It does get cold here but we have had some awesome weather. My fiancee is still cold (she is from Kolkata and when I was there it was in the upper 80s) but she is enjoying the weather. It's been sunny and been in the mid to upper 60s in the last couple of days. What about you ? You .. somewhere on the west coast ?

Good luck with the wedding prep. Not trying to make light of all the work you need to do, after all the K1 stuff, it should be a somewhat of a breeze.

Oh ok, I've been to NC once for work last year. It's a very pretty state! I myself live in Ohio and the winters here are brutal. Sam's never experienced -0C before ::evil grin:: It's been hovering around 5C this week. I grew up on the west coast through. Well the surprise honeymoon idea is out. I was thinking dinseyworld but it would be too much work to do in such a short time. People book those kinds of trips years in advance. Now I'm looking for something more relaxing and not as expensive, either within driving distance from Cleveland or a quick plane ride to California so I can show him where I grew up. If I do decide to go to California, ELW, let's arrange a get together!

yep, someplace warm would be nice. Given your location, I would suggest Niagara Falls. Romantic and hopefully, will not be too cold. Another great place is Gatlinburg, Tennessee -foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Depending on where you are in OH, may be bit of a drive (`7-8 hrs) but a great place.

hi guys,

We received our NOA2 on march 27th, and within a week got letter from NVC with new case number.

but since then there is been no communication from NVC.. they said that the case will be forwarded with in a week to mumbai consulate and its almost 3 weeks now , i am very confused at this stage.

can i get some help on what options do i have now. and if its normal for NVC to take so long. how can i find out what currently going on with our file.

Yes it is normal to take that long. In the meantime you can all the embassy to see if they've received your case. If they have, you can submit packet 3 before you receive it in the mail.

Guys, Sam is heading to the airport right now. He'll be on that plane in in about 7 hours. :blink:

I just got back...One ?, at the POE what do they stamp for the beneficiary? Anything specific? do they stamp the duration of stay in the I-94. It has been pretty rough last 4 weeks...still coming to terms

I just got back...One ?, at the POE what do they stamp for the beneficiary? Anything specific? do they stamp the duration of stay in the I-94. It has been pretty rough last 4 weeks...still coming to terms

yes, they stamp the I-94 with the expiration date (which should be valid for 90 days). Sorry to hear about the bad news in your family.

Update on my front.... got the civil ceremony done yesterday. No hiccups. Need to file for the AOS next.

Timeline for K1 visa

9/11/2008 – mailed I-129F

9/12/2008 – Received at VSC/NOA 1 sent (mail stamp-9/16)

9/15/2008 – check cashed

9/19/2008 –Received NOA1

12/28/2008 – Received NOA2 Approval email from CRIS

01/06/2009 – Left NVC for Mumbai Consulate

01/07/2009 – Received NVC confirmation letter in the mail

01/08/2009 – Mumbai Consulate received file electronically and sent packet 3 (info from DOS)

01/10/2009 – Mumbai Consulate received file (hard copy) from NVC (DHL tracking)

01/19/2009 – Overnighted packet 3 (still did not receive receive pkt 3 from Mumbai)

01/20/2009 – Packet 3 arrives at Mumbai Consulate

01/23/2009 – called DOS and was informed that packet 4 has been sent and interview date set.

01/24/2009 – Received hard copy of packet 3 (postmark Jan 20). Too late. Already sent packet 3 on Jan 19.

02/02/09 – Received Packet 4

02/04/09 – Submitted documents at the VFS Kolkata Office

02/06/09 - Medicals completed

03/02/2009 – BIG DAY, i.e., Interview Date

03/03/2009 - Visa received in mail

04/09/2009 - POE

AOS

04/17/2009 - CIVIL

6/16/2009 - Mailed AOS package

6/19/2009 - NOA1

7/08/2009 - AOS transferred to CSC

7/17/2009 - Biometrics appointment, EAD case Touched

8/05/2009 - EAD card production ordered, AP approved !!!!

ROC

08/27/2011 - Mailed ROC packageCIVIL

08/29/2011 - NOA1

09/19/2011 - Early Bio (scheduled date 10/03/2011)
