I am curious after NOA2 how does the interview get scheduled?

Do i need to call the embassy after the NVC notice to get an interview? or is it automatically scheduled?

Wuld calling them speed it along?

Take a look at the K1 Guide, that'll give you some ideas. Also look at the K1 Flowchart.

To answer your specific question, the interview is automatically scheduled, no call necessary on your part. Your fiancee will get a letter from the consulate telling her when the interview is. You can also call NVC about a week after you've been approved, to get your case number. Then you can go to the Moscow Embassy website and look your case up on the appointment schedule.

The letter is also usually accompanied or followed by a packet of information detailing what your fiancee will need to bring to the interview (the so-called packet 3/4), though some fiancees report never receiving this. In any event. the guides here, and the consulate website, list in good detail what is required.

Good luck!

You're pretty much done with your end until after she gets here and you get married, apply for new SSN/card and then AOS.

One thing you will need to do is send her your financial sponsorship info if you haven't done so already. I also sent along a new "letter of intent" and, man, it's been so long I forget what else I sent.

Financial info doesn't need to be elaborate. I sent an I-130 (?, like I said, been a long time!), letter from my employer stating I was a full-time employee in good standing, a couple paycheck stubs to show that my employer really did pay me, a statement from my bank saying that I really did deposit and spend that money my employer paid me, and then a year or two's tax summary to prove that the IRS knew that my employer paid me.

It's not necessary to send all this mortgage info, stock options, proof of IRA, etc. Prove you make 120% and that's it.

it.

You sent an I-134 because it was a K1 visa. I-130 is a petition for an alien relative used for people who are already married and are just starting the processes. Edited by Satellite

I'll add a little  for Satellite too. (In a totally non-San Francisco kind of way.)

Congratulations!!!! AWESOME NEWS!!!

I need to run, but I think your list is correct. I don't know if you're divorced, but make sure you send in a court certified original copy. (original copy meaning it can be a copy with an original stamp on it. I have 3 copies of my own.)

As it happens, I'll be drinking with some friends tonight. I'll make a toast to the happy couple!

Here is a good link to a webpage at the U.S. embassy website in Moscow. This page can also be selected to be viewed in Russian. I am in Izhevsk right now and have been going over this with my SO.

It is interesting when you view the Russian Version. The numbered items at the bottom of this page do not match 1 for 1. For instance, Item 6 on English page is Item 7 or 8 on the Russian translated page. But it is all there in Russian, which makes it much easier for my SO to fully understand what will be required to bring to the interview.

There are frames on the left where you can select many other options for looking at other Visa item information.

I disagree with slim's assessment your work is basically done at this point. If you SO is like mine, with a limited knowledge of English, she will need help completing the DS 230, DS 156, etc.. Heck, even with a good knowledge of English I think she would need help to decipher some of the questions. It has been invaluable for me to be here and go over the forms with her. Warning - It can try your patience when attempting to find out information from your SO to fill out any forms. You may have to ask the same question a different way until she fully understands what is being asked. It has to do more with different cultural backgrounds than anything else I feel.

We have been going over the forms and I have been asking her questions, and re-asking the same question in a slightly different manner. I've written the answers down. We were able to print the forms at a friend of hers home, but her son does not have a printer with his computer at her house. When back home I will complete the DS 230 and send to her. I will also print out a copy of the DS 156 and fill in the information to send to her, so she can then fill this out online as required.

You do not have long to wait now!

13 Apr 2009 - Sent to Embassy

Great point, bobb.

Sometimes in this situation it is better to "do it for them" and then send them a copy to sign. It can be quite trying (even with decent English skills already as most govt. forms aren't written in your standard every day vernacular.) but you can work through it. Ensure if you're going over there or meeting somewhere, even if it's your initial meeting, that you get done what you can get done as far as "her paperwork."

This is one of those things where I kind of looked at it as "if she really wants to go through with it she'll make sure she gets it done." But I also wanted to make sure it was done right the first time so I did plenty of "helping" too.

Check and double check if you can. Bobb's correct, you're not "done" but at least it's not "your" papers that need to be done now.
