Hello,

new to this UK thread. We have our interview on the 24th of April 2009, so yes i'm bricking it, i'm in constant floods of tears, i've thought of every scenario ( good and bad) and I think it become a tiny bit of madness. I would love someone s support through this it seems like few ppl know what its like to miss someone so much that you feel like a dead woman walking. help????

:D Don't worry, you're not alone. It's best if you try and keep yourself busy and try not to over-think about it so you're all perky and bouncy when the interview comes around. I'm on AP (additional processing) myself likely because of issues to do with my birth certificate, but I was otherwise told I was good to go. And trust me, my brain and heart want to explode because I miss my Knight so much -- but it's not that far away at all. :: Hugs :: Trust me, we're all either in the same boat as you or there are those of us who've already been through it! You'll be fine.

Magpie.

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

Magpie -

I have been following your story because of your situation with a lack of a long-form birth certificate. I was actually reading about your case last week whilst we were in holiday in the UK. In reading your account, I have been unclear as to why you were placed on Additional Processing.

Did the consular officer tell you the issue is with your birth certificate specifically?

i do keep myself busy, I try at least. I go to the cinema alot now, shop and decorate. lol I just miss him all the time, it seems like an age before I get to see him. I broke down crying in Tesco thursday night, and its not the first time. lol. luckily my friend was there to help me out. Its all so new and a bit scary to be honest. sorry to hear about your AP, but by the looks of things it wont be long for you at all, think that this time next year it will all be a distant memory for you.

Well, he didn't...all he did say was that they had to do some processing on their end. I was guessing that they could be checking with my hospital of birth, or performing name checks, or the AP could possibly be to follow up on my family issues with the police. I do have a Middle Eastern last name, and I was born in India...having spoken to peeps on the forum, people in my ethnic position have also been placed into AP. Aside from that, I can't think of any other reason for them to do so because I've grown up here from toddler to university student and my police record is spotless.

Thanks magpie

:D Thank you. I'm certainly hoping and praying that it won't take more than two or three weeks to get through. :: Hugs :: We've all had our tearful moments so it's perfectly normal. Just stay peachy and you'll be fine :star:.

Hugs!

Ah. Ok.

I'm sure it's just me, but I would have asked what the processing was about. Especially since there was an 'issue' with the birth cert.

I did give DOS a ring, but they didn't really give me much information. :D I've also sent you a PM.

Well thanks to all of you. I was beginning to think that I was the only one going through this and feeling the way I do. I dont think its just the waiting to see him or the up and downness /lack of certainty about the visa process, its " i'm leaving my family" its "i'm not sure I will get a job over there" its "I'm gonna be the odd one out (over there)" all of which i'm ready for but I just dont know where to start to prepare for the difference. All we can do is go one step at a time this I know. Forgive me if it seems i'm a little upset, but this week has been a doozy( at work, and this) just needed to talk about it to ppl that know what its all about.

can someone also tell me if i can use w2's instead of tax returns??

all of your kindness is appreciated, will keep you all posted

congratulations, i bet it must feel like the shackles just fell off eh.

thanks for the information. I am actually completing his tax return this week for last year, there is an issue with past tax returns thats why i asked, but i will do this years and deal with the others in lieu.

i feel pretty much the same as yesterday, but my motto is This too shall pass, nothing ever stays the same, no matter how dismal it may seem.

thanks to all of you,

congrats to the approved couple.
