Is the only way through the £1 something a minute phone line? I want to check if they've recieved our file but really don't want to pay that if there's another way... My bills are bad enough with always calling the states... Thanks!

You could email them - put your case number in the subject line - or have you SO call the DOS # and see if it is logged in as rec'd.

The embassy normally mails out the confirmation letter with Packet 3, (once they have the file from the NVC).

Can't advise you on the calling the embassy, but while I realise it's a bit late for you, others reading might like to know that sky's phone line gives you free 1 hour long calls to the US for something daft like £5 a month. You talk for an hour, hang up, re-dial, talk for another hour, hang up, redial.. you get my drift! :D

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

Absolutely can confirm that emailing them does work - I emailed them on 2 occassions and used the case number in the title line of email... you will get an auto response advising noone will reply to your email however on both occassions I got a reply a day or so after the auto reply. Good Luck
