K-1 or K-3

I have been living in Egypt with my fiance for 1 year and 10 months.... do I have to file for the K-1 BEFORE 2 years of me meeting him?

also... What is a DFC/DCF...?

I was told if I married here in Egypt and filed the DCF/DFC that the process would be faster? I heard that the K-3 were taking up to 3 years to process

can someone enlighten me PLEASE

DCF is Direct Consular Filing... and Egypt doesn't offer that.

If you marry in Egypt and you've lived there for 6+ months you can do a DCF [Direct Consular Filing] at the US embassy there. He will get a CR-1 visa. DCF is faster than other spouse visas. Faster than fiance visas also.

K3 normally take about 10 months to process.

Do I have to file the K-1 before 2 years?

In Feb 2009, I will have been here in Egypt for 2 years now .... Im going back to US, late Jan.. do u think I will have time to send my paperwork, if I send it late Jan? does it have to be post marked before Feb 22, 2009, which will be the 2 year date I have known my fiance

You have to file within 2 years of last seeing him, not within 2 years of first meeting him. So you'll be fine if you file before 2011.

its cr1 and its better then k3 it may took 2 monthes more but still the best
