Not many guys posting in this thread ...

Cool that Patrick and John met, passed their medical, and that you are all having lunch together!

I can't wait to receive packet three and send it back the same day. I read that the consulate sends hardcopies of the forms to be sent back. Do these hardcopies include any information additional to the forms you can download? like A# and case number? I would prefer to type these forms. What did you guys/girls do?

On the example DS156 form they ask for a national identification number. The closest I can think of is the "Burgerservicenummer", but this is similar to a social security number and not really a national identification number. At the moment from all that i read online, I will answer NONE, what did you do?

Maarten - Since I never actually saw these papers and can't remember what Pat put on his, I won't answer this just yet. I will be sure though to ask Pat what he filled in when I talk to him again!!

YAY!! Great news Anna...things should go pretty fast now. When in September will you be in Holland? It usually takes about 4-6 weeks from the time the Consulate gets Packet 3 back to when you have your interview....so hopefully that works!!!

I will be in Holland in September 14-24. So if we get and send Packet 3 this week, it's very likely I will be there for the interview!!!! That's ok if I am not, but it would be soo great!

Hehe I see Pat and John met and the story unravels.....

Hey Maarten, first post from Pat here hehe

You can leave the NIN blank, us Dutchies don't have one yet.

You do need to write on the forms though, they have the case numbers and such typed on them. Unlike the forms you can download...

Otherwise you'll have to get an oldfashioned typewriter somewhere or something...

They're not that hard to do though, I saw a couple of questions that raised some eyebrows, but most are easy. If you'll still have questions, either way ask them here or call the consulate.

Good luck on the next stage, packet 4 will be there before you know it!!:D

Greetz to all, Pat

:D great to see how close most of us are, or is it all of us?

Great to see you here Pat, heard a lot about you already.

I am starting to count down now, only 17 more nights before we get on the plane.

Lets just hope the temps will be below 85 degrees that day, other wise the dogs can't fly and we will be stuck.

Oh well, we're thinking positive, it will be a cold day in DC and we will be flying.

It is a crazy feeling, called a second hand shop today, they are coming over to empty my house 2 days before we leave.

Yes, looking back now I realized that it was 7 months exactly from the day we sent in our application to the day we received our visa's.

And yes, most furniture, kitchenstuff and books are going.

Hardly taking stuff with us.

Just a few books, my sons toys(I know, he is 14 but not ready yet to let stuff go),clothes and special memories like pictures and a few little things.

I think we'll be close to the seven month mark by the time Pat's visa arrives. Not sure how long that takes actually...

Wow...that's pretty much like Pat is doing. He's just mailing little things and got rid of all the bigger stuff when he moved in with his Mom.
