AOS from H1B Visa!

Dear all,

Looking for your expertize. A friend of mine who is currently on H1B visa is getting married to his USC fiance next month. I wanted to know what forms would he need to submit? Also, does he need to apply for EAD as well even though he has a work visa? I am guessing he will need to file all of the following:

I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765 and G325A.

Also can someone tell me the total cost of all these forms?

And does anyone have an estimate the current time scale it is taking to get the approval.

Thank you all :)

File concurrent I-130 and I-485, along with relevant G325A's + I693 (medical).

The AP and EAD are optional, the H1B will still be valid during the AOS process (unless of course it is expiring soon, then you should apply for EAD). They are both included in the AOS fee (I-485) so up to you.

I-130 - $355

I-485 - $1010

03/01/2007 - POE - JFK (L-1 Visa)

01/15/2008 - Proposed

03/15/2008 - Married

09/02/2008 - Sent AOS Package (I-130, I-485, I-693)

09/03/2008 - Received - Signed by SMITH

09/04/2008 - Checks deposited

09/10/2008 - Checks cleared ($1010 + $355)

09/12/2008 - 2 NOA's received (I-130, I-485) - Dated 09/08/08

09/16/2008 - Received notice for biometrics appointment on 09/30/2008

09/20/2008 - Biometrics done - Walk in (Orlando) Took 10 minutes

09/22/2008 - I-485 viewable online (pending, of course)

09/30/2008 - Biometrics Appointment (2pm)

12/30/2008 - Received Interview Letter

02/25/2008 - Interview

03/06/2008 - Welcome Letter received (the website will clearly never send me updates!)

My lawyer told me to include in the AOS application the "H1B approval notice" that my company got before I came to work here - it is a one page letter.

I would apply for EAD too, cause it sucks to be on H1B. It is better to be free to work for different employers and not tied to a single one!
