We just received our Xmas gifts from them and already opened them. His mom quilted us an advent calendar and used Coffee Crisp as the chocolate. At least hubby has a bit of home for the holidays :)

Awe how nice..

I'm at home in NB for Christmas. Due to the fact that I work a job that is open 24/7, 365, I will be working most of the holiday anyway (Xmas eve, day, boxing day - all night shifts, then new years eve and day - nights). Probably won't even get down to see the Grandparents in Halifax until after New Years, but they'll just be happy that I'm able to show up at all :)

Bo can't come up due to how busy his job gets around the holidays (home theatre installation), so I'm trying to get his present off soon :P Both our birthdays are right after the holidays (January), so he knows the gifts cover both events :)

I'll be in Canada around Christmas. Oh wait... I live here. :P

"Home" as in my home country is the United States, but I can't go. I did receive my PR card a week or so ago, but since I didn't know when it'd arrive, I never made flight plans. Even more important is the fact I've recently been diagnosed with mononucleosis, which I've been "enjoying" thoroughly. My dad doesn't want me around if I'm contagious (which I currently am and will be for months after the symptoms have gone away), so going anywhere is out of the question.

Ugh..mono is not a fun thing. Sorry to hear that deadpool.

I will be going home for christmas. (Kitchener-Waterloo) Spending Christmas in Canada is important to me because it makes me happy. Seeing all the snow and kids playing hockey on the pond...that is what it is all about for me.

I leave the 23rd and don't have to be back here in NJ until Jan. 4th.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I'm hoping I'll go home for Christmas or just after (at least for New Years!!)...pending my AP!!!! :)

I'm in the same boat as Laura. I'm still waiting for AP approval but if not for Christmas, I've decided I'm going to surprise my daughter for her birthday mid-January.

I will be in Canada for X-mas, was hoping that he could come up to Canada for Christmas, but he's stuck on the "on call" list so he can't leave the local area! I won't be able to make it because I promised my family I'd spend Christmas with them this year! But I will probably get sucked in working on my days off, which are 2 days before the 24th of Dec, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, because we are so short staffed as it is! OT for me!

We are going to Calgary for Christmas, which isn't really "home" for either of us (my family is in Washington State, he grew up in Edmonton, we live in southern Illinois), but we are going to fly up Christmas Eve, spend Christmas Day together at his sister's place (soaking in the hot tub!), and then have a few days after Christmas with his sister and her family (they are going to spend the actual holiday with my brother-in-law's side of the family this year). It will be our first Christmas as a married couple. I love this man so much!

Yuck! I had that when I was 19 or 20. I went to a Squeeze concert in Binghamton and actually fell asleep sitting in a bleacher seat at the SUNY Binghamtom gym with the music absolutely blairing because I was so worn down from it. I hope you feel better very soon!

My wife and I will definitely be stopping over in Windsor to visit her family and I'm trying to find a way to go spend our third New Years in a row in Toronto. We've kind of got a tradition going over the passed few years of going to the CN Tower for an awesome dinner than running around on the frozen ponds after we get out of the bars on the way back to the hotel haha :)

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)
