from here you need birth certificate, divorce papers, paper of religion, drivers liscense, passport, and i believe i had a paper from my work, hard to remember now, these i sent ahead and had him to get translated and it still took us 2 1/2 weeks. First we went to dept of ministeries in rabat, this the citizen goes in alone to get the paper, then casa embassy, again citizen only alone and i believe pay $30, then that paper has to go back to rabat. Then the fun begins in the city courts, you to go to the police, then back and forth between courts and different agencies to get stamps. It is a long hard process both need to be present because they ask US citizen the questions. Be sure you take the religion paper from here as they dont provide easily, i didnt because i had been told they could do it there and they wouldnt, so a man of the court made and certified a statement for me. Oh and the US citizen must do a dr appoint there with Moroccan Dr, if i think of more i will write

In Nepal (Kathmandu embassy) all I needed was my US passport. If I had been previously married I believe I would have needed divorce decree or death certificate. This of course is separate from what the Nepali gov't required for court marriage, just what the USEM asked for. I believe the fee was also $30. They did allow my husband(then fiance) to come to the window with me and asked me a few questions - how did we meet, etc. - I was unprepared and messed up when the CO asked for Govi's birth date. I am hoping that little mistake won't cost us at Govi's interview.

For the eligibility to marry document, you just take your passport to the consulate and they will give you the form to sign. Your fiance can't enter with you into the consulate.

This is by far the easiest step in your journey. We waited for more than one month to get approval to marry. But then again we married in the Western Sahara in a very small town.

If you are in a bigger city then things should move along more swiftly.

Sorry, I didn't read that your fiance is the USC. In that case it will be he that enters and you will have to wait outside until he gets the form signed and stamped.

I think i answered this before but if not: He will need to take his passport and go into the consulate sign the eligibilty to marry then go to Rabat and go to two different locations... I can't seem to remember but it took an entire day...

after the approval of from both locations and a stamp you go back to your location for us it was Casablanca and go through the judge there....(mixed marriage typically are on the bottom of the pile btw). They asked for my certificate of conversion and my pay stubs (not sure why and that's not even posted on the embassy of needed docs but i brought them anyway thank Allah).

We took a sealed paket to the police headquaters here it is helpful if he has his resume' they will ask him his timeline from education to work history.. they will type up another form and you take that packet to the head judge near the palace.

after there you will wait my husband the moroccan citizen had to meet with the judge once we had that we had to go back to the original judge for mixed marriages and wait for them to type of the remaining papers.... after that you pick up your marriage doc.. I think i have a pic of it somewhere authorizing you to marry then go to the Masjiid and have the contract signed ..phew that's it then the ceremoney... so three days???? good luck all that was done in @ 2 weeks and we had "connections"

Also make sure all documents are translated there as well as your certified birthcertificate and police record. Also have him bring all the docs for your immergration and sign them there or download them and print them and sign them .....

how's that ? :)

thanks rajaa for the answer, i started this post because i got confused, i called the consulate yesterday to ask about the documents my fiancé needs to get the eligibilty to marry and the guy who answered me was really confusing, he said that he needs his passport, his divorce certificate, his pay stubs, his bank statements, his tax returns!!!!!! and i find it strange that they ask for all these things so i wanted to be sure

as for the papers of immigration can he put a date later when he wants to send them or should it be all filed in computer???
