And you probably never make mistakes either. Right? Therefore you should never ever be employed by any company anywhere. You are not employable because you make mistakes.

However, that being said, the offshore production sector of the US oil industry has an admirable safety record, is highly regulated by the US government, and has consistently employed the latest technology to keep pollution and loss of life to a minimum as it becomes available.

But by your standards we should stop all commerce because of any incident. Right? So we should also shut down our entire transportation system because there are accidents. No cars, no airplanes, no anything. We'll all live in tents out in the woods and all human endevours will cease because accidents surely will happen.

My advice,,,buy a horse and quit burning all that evil oil. Is this the attitude of the "Yes We Can" crowd? Boy, are we in for a real suprise after the elections.

BTW...drilling companies are required by law to do a site assessment before any drilling operations are begun. The technology is there.

1.) My life is riddled with mistakes, but I haven't steered a tanker into a reef lately. The technology is only as good as the people that are using it.

2.) My job is driven (literally) by fuel, so don't make assumptions about "my standards". I guarantee you that I've forgotten more about the Transportation Industry than you'll ever know.
