I bet I could find some instances of robbery and kidnapping in Australia ;)

I didn't ask about Australia now did I.

I said when this happens in America, considering we are discussing cultures /races in America. Who is commiting the crimes "in America"? Who the majority of gang bangers are "in America".

Why do I care.. Because I live in, wait for it, yep "America".

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

You've got this perfect cover story for your idiotic racism don't you? Just make out that the person is part of "the gang" and then you can justify anything. Even racism apparently...

What did Len say to you to get your goat?

Check your facts before you post. Len called me a ####### as if my initial post was aimed at her. So I responded with the statistics on gang bangers. Which was entirely in context considering she mentioned race.

I know what you said - it just isn't relevant. Some men perpetrated a robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas - that's it. For whatever reason you want to use the ethnicity of the alleged perpetrators to play a racial angle.

Again - what's your point?

Yes.

Because you did the  thing at the ethnicity of the perpetrators.

Yes I was being cheeky with that post. But when Len called me an ####### I simply played along.

Who is the one whining here. Oh I said something about race :crying: :crying: :crying: I forgot this is such a dirty subject in America.

Yes it is racist to identify the perpetrators of crime.

Got to love 2008 liberal America. You can ####### on religion all you like but boy are you ###### the second you mention race. Six you seriously picked the right country to move to. I don't think your bull ####### would fly in London.

Maybe you and SVRT can get together and start studying cultural dimensions by Geert Hofstede. Obviously you have absolutely no idea on the difference between race and culture.

While you are at it can you tell me how many Asian Americans, Indians, Arabs, Europeans are gang bangers..

Why would I do that? Again - it has absolutely no relevance to this robbery/kidnapping. In other words - its your argument - not mine.

As for identifying the perpetrators of the crime - that was done in the article. What you did was embellish it with "Oh noes, hispanic people! I'm so surprised".

Anyone who has taken statistics or even has a decent knowledge of it, along with probability, knows there is more behind a statistic than just the number. Likewise, anyone who reads posts here knows Aficionado harps on black people more than anything else. The guy has way too much focus on race in pretty much everything he posts, and it's obvious as day he's a racist -- and like the movie "Big", is like a child posting under an adult name. No question about that at all. Likely one of those moronic 21st century Minute Men attitude that the white race is under attack. So when reading statistics understand how they're used. Simple as that. The fact that a higher percentage of blacks are "gang bangers", I'm assuming he means violent crimes or gang-related crimes, has way too many factors to just suggest "most blacks are gang bangers", or make any logical, racial connection.

One example is a friend of mine's town, which has 80% whites. 5% blacks. 9-10'ish% Hispanics. The rest belonging to others like Asian and Middle Eastern. Is it ironic that this town also has blacks being the most convicted of possession of drugs, or violent crimes, when I go and see a white chasing a black guy across the street, tackling and kicking the ####### out of him, or go to friends house while we have a few tokes. Pretty much all white guys there. There is a clear indication of bias and racial discrimination in law enforcement, juries, amongst other things.

This was a very well put article (here's the premise):

http://www2.mnbar.org/benchandbar/2001/may...l-disparity.htm

Racial profiling has been a hot issue in Minnesota and across the nation in recent months. While certainly deserving of this attention, racial profiling is only one aspect of a much larger issue: the disproportionate number of African Americans, Latinos, American Indians, and other minorities who are arrested, convicted, and imprisoned by our criminal justice system.

Although racial profiling and the disparate impact of the criminal justice system on minorities are often presented as "new" issues, they aren't. Many minorities, particularly African Americans and Latinos, have long complained about disparate treatment by law enforcement and the criminal justice system generally. What is new, however, is the increase in the level of racial disparity, particularly here in Minnesota. Minnesota now has the largest disparity between black and white imprisonment rates of any state in the nation.

The demographics in Minnesota are also new. The number of American Indians, African Americans, Latinos, and other minorities has increased -- both in greater Minnesota and in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The data now available suggest a racial disparity exists within the criminal justice system statewide -- in rural, as well as urban communities.

Finally, the level of recent attention to these issues by public policymakers is new. This is a positive development, because racial disparity is a problem with immense implications that deserve our attention and action.

This article highlights some of what we now know about the disparate numbers of American Indians, African Americans, and Latinos who are stopped, arrested, charged, convicted, and sentenced for crimes in Minnesota. It also offers examples of how the U.S. Supreme Court and the Minnesota Supreme Court have dealt with issues of race in the context of stops by police, charging decisions by prosecutors, jury trials, and sentencing.

The article is by no means exhaustive or dispositive, nor is it intended to be. The problem of racial disparity is complex. What is offered here is a beginning -- an effort to provide an overview of the various dimensions of the racial disparity issue, to spark further discussion and dialogue about what can, and should be done within our communities and our state.

Aficionado, being new here to the country, is probably not used to all of these colored people wandering around everywhere. He comes from a country largely full of white people. The one thing in common with the U.S., Canada, and Australia, is there are plenty of white people scared shitless about people who look different than them becoming anything of a large population. Couldn't help but laugh at people, with his very mentality, in my own family, afraid that their "culture" (whatever the hell that is) is going to get annihilated by people of another race.

And good news for them is this population is going to get bigger. So better start doing some exterminating. Or maybe getting along and quit blaming them for the problems in this country. Start recognizing this country's history, start learning from it.

I'm pretty excited to see how well Aficionado is going to adapt to whites taking up a far less percent of the country in the coming years.

Svrt Svrt. You have a lot to learn. Just because you have moved from the south to the west coast and feel you are above everybody else does not make you some sort of expert on reality. First of all one in four Australia citizens was born overseas. Melbourne is technically the third largest Greek city, with over 350,000 Greeks living there. Both of my parents being from Greece.

When I went to school in some of my classes we didn't even have one Anglo kid in the class. So to sit here and think that CA, aka douchebagville / wankerville, has some sort of superior ethic melting pot is just silly.

This scared business is really a joke because you obviously don't know traditional Greeks or Aussies very well. I have never been scared in my life.

The facts are the facts. Because of people like you, who refuse to address the facts, is the reason why American has become a cesspool of ghettos and why nothing ever changes. If you are not blaming someone you are too concerned about the constitution being so-called violated. All while the country's living standard is going down the toilet and it resembles an African / South American nation more and more each day. And I am not talking about race but about levels of poverty.

Pretty strange. I walk outside and I see no ghetto.

Oh, one thing I also forgot is Aficionado is also one of the classic "media victims". As in, believes the things he sees on TV is happening around every street corner in the country. Lets hope porn and Viagra commercials haven't done him in too.

Come on SVRT, this country is filled with Ghettos. Especially CA. Look at south central LA. As you said, you live in a nice suburb so to you this is all media hype.

I will tell you story. First time I went to LA I drove through south central. Being scared and all as you say. Good one mate.. I remember going to a Taco Bell only to see the entire front counter had bullet proof glass. I had to order through a microphone and then received my order through a system where they put the food in a box, locked the door on their side, then I could open the door to get the food. You find me one place in the worst part of Sydney, London, Europe or developed Asia that is like this. That is a freakin joke in a developed country. I wasn't scared without a gun, let alone if I had a gun. If a had the aussie gun of choice, sawn off shot gun, I would go into any neighborhood. I'll take out MS 13 one by one.

You can sit here and blame statistics and racism all you like but just today there was stabbing in a middle school. Culprit black teenager. Previous day a black teenager left their baby to die in a bag. Yesterday a black male decided to ram a stationary police car multiple times. Do you think the media or white males are making this up? Yes there are some really nice African Americans. Much nicer and better people than the both of us. Unfortunately that community has a huge problem with crime. The suburbs are not really the issue but the inner cities and surrounding areas are a huge problem. This is not an issue of race or skin color but an issue of inner city culture. You guys need to get over this fixation with race. I don't even look at race. I do look at culture.

Firstly, in any legitimate and dangerous gang neighborhood, they have people watching, and certainly every person there is armed, so you'd never make it very far. So I'd stick to Grand Theft Auto.

And you think your racist mentality actually helps the problem or addresses it? Hah. No. You perpetuate it.

There are reasons behind violent crime, reasons behind minorities in this country being most of the poor, or most of the uneducated, or in most urban areas being involved some small majority of the crime. In Oakland, East Palo Alto, and Richmond, the largest problem there is the people who run the city don't give a sh!t about policing the area, or helping people get educated, or help fund programs, proven to work, to keep kids out of trouble before they turn into a bad seed. They don't care to build recreational areas to help neighborhoods get onto the right track. This is especially prevalent in Oakland, where the mayor could give two fvcks bettering anyone else but himself and the people who helped him get into office. These are major culprits, at least in this area. The only thing I've seen you do is take a statistic and use it as a tool to trash people. I wasn't born yesterday, and it's clear you have this near-hatred, if not worse, for these people because others try to lift them up to be equals. Maybe you're jealous, who knows.. and who cares. The fact is, many of us are interested in educating not only those minorities who are involved, but helping idiots like you realize two things: 1. you aren't superior to them, you are looked down upon as well for your intolerance, and 2. you have to be part of the solution to solve the problem, not be part of the problem. When you learn these things, you can move forward, closer to the solution. Those who are intelligent and tolerant enough to know how to deal with this are especially hard on people like you because you understand your problem does no good, you just like to stupidly excuse what you do. So, you get sh!t for it. Rightfully. It's worth repeating that if you don't want to be part of the solution, you'll be treated as the problem.
