CR1/IRI... NEEDS CENOMAR- MANILA INTERVIEW

my husband had interview last Oct 8, I thought he got only pink slip because he said our DOC VERIFICATION is ok... but then he was telling me about Cenomar??? At first I thought it is the name of the seminar that he needs to do after visa delivery (sounds familiar- I knew I did this beofre) but then.. I researcehd about it and asked MRS. HOOKs who happened to be online..and to my suprise, Cenomar means certificate of no marriage that we need to apply in National Statistics Office... My husband right away applied for this cenomar for both of us yesterday. It took 3 weeks for it to be released. It is a good thing that we are really not in a hurry to get the visa because I will be spending 3 weeks in Manila this Nov.. but I think US Embassy should be clear about their requirements, like this cenomar.. for me, it is really absurd to require for this document because before we got married in Catholic Church, cenomar is one of the primary requirement! I think US embassy do not trust anybody anymore.. It is a sad thing because almost all of us become victims...

i think that if you look closely at the I130 requirements you will see that it is needed or at least encouraged to be sent with the I130. But i think it is wise to try and consdier EVERYTHING; so as to prevent RFEs or any other delay.

My wife and I have brainstormed many times in an effort to send everything this is required and then addtions to that. My wife had mailed the CENOMAR to me from QC for purposes I needed it here...then I actually have sent it back to her..for her use with the interview portion.

Keep working through...the reward is waiting for you both.

Hi, if you will review the "Requirements needed for the Interview", CENOMAR is included (Number 4) . http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfiven.pdf

For single and married applicants, both will still apply for "CENOMAR" at NSO. For single applicants, NSO will be releasing the CRS Form No. 4 = CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) and for those who are married, what NSO will release is the "CRS Form No. 5 - Advisory on Marriages".

During my time, there were still confusions about CENOMAR because it was not clearly stated then. Applicants only receive a small piece of paper attached to their Packet requiring applicants to bring to bring a CENOMAR.

I'm now worried, my wife and I didnt catch this cenomar either. She has her interview Oct 22nd...I have a question about this. If she gets it done on monday and has it before the interview, its going to slow down visa deleivery right? Also it wasn't listed on her appointment letter from USEM. Was it on your appointment letter? Thanks

4. CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE RECORD (CENOMAR). If you have never contracted marriage, a CENOMAR (Singleness) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and printed on NSO security paper should be submitted. You may call the NSO Information Center at 02-737-1111 to inquire on securing a CENOMAR or visit their web site at http://www.census.gov.ph.

personally, i never thought i'd be asked to submit this document (since i am an IR1 benificiary), bu YES i was asked for this during my interview and luckily i brought it with me. previous months before, benificiaries or IR1, CR1 and K3 were never asked for this, i personally asked my CO about this and she politely aswered me that they used to require this before for the above-mentioned visa category benificiaries but they stopped it, they just recently brought back the need for marriage index...the guys from window 37 also said the same thing when i asked him..

try securing the marriage index as early as now. you can request for it online (NSO website) and pay through metrobank first thing monday..if she gets it before interview, chances are she'll only received pink slip (with instructions to pay delbros) and if there won't be any other problem (ie DV or any additional docs to be submitted)..

and NOPE, the marriage index (CENOMAR) was NEVER mentioned in my appointment slip..but i just brought it with me..

hi! i had my interview last sept 18 and i wasn't asked for cenomar, i'm in IR1 category. although i was asked for 2 document verification. i'm still waiting for my visa coz of the document verification. good thing if they really removed the document verification.

CENOMAR is seldom asked for at the interview for married couples. I've never seen it asked for married couples on a US embassy site.

Good thing to have tho as it does show your recent marriage and any others the filipino had.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Hello MJ3lasvegas!

How can you get a CENOMAR if you're already married? If I apply for one, will I use my maiden name? I'm confused. hehehe. Well I am still in the early stages of NVC processing but it does not hurt to be prepared. Thanks.

Best regards,

But now, since it seems the CO is currently waving the DV requirement, the marriage index is asked for from CR-1/IR-1 applicants.

To much information be passed around here...Lets try again, one person says its not needed, another says it is and yet another says to go to the NSO office and get something else. Umm my wife already has NSO copies that are certified of her birth cirt and our marriage cirt. If I am understanding this correctly, she wont need the CENOMAR being we are married? It doesnt make any sence that we could be approved to be married in the Phils if my wife was already married...i'm confused even more now.
