After bailout, AIG sent executives to the spa

Was it a bad idea to go through with it...absolutely. But they probably put down deposits on airfare and the resort months

or even a year prior. Somebody made a really poor decision in going through with the trip.

Here's an example for you to consider....you'd been planning your dream vacation for a year. Tickets are paid for,

time share is paid for, and then a couple months before the trip you get laid off. Now all of a sudden you're having problems

paying your bills. You have to swallow your pride and ask the in-laws for a small loan.

THEN the in-laws see your vacation pics...and they're PISSED.

yeah, i read this in the paper this morning, and i found myself feeling quite angry and kind of helpless.

i hear what you're saying, it's true, they probably planned it months ago, but it just seems wrong in the current circumstances. If the Fed didn't bail them out, they would have had a whole lot more to worry about than losing their room deposits, etc...

we (my husband and i) have been planning stuff: a vacation, me going back to school... but all that's on hold right now b/c we don't know what's going to happen. we would only borrow $$ from relatives for necessities, not for stuff we'd like to do.
