My wife had her interview at the American Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia on Tuesday, October 1. I was with her for support and to ensure everything went as planned. Her Serbian passport expires 7 months from now. The Embassy in Serbia, and probably all embassies require the passport to be valid for at least 8 months beyond the issuance of the visa. The Vice Councelor at the Embassy told us that all she needs to do is bring in a renewed passport and her visa will be issued. She will have her renewed passport next week. The 8 month requirement was news to us. Hope this helps someone avoid a minor delay!
