long story short, i married a chinese PRC girl i met while working in china. we used a K1 to immigrate, married in US last october, and filed AOS/AP/EAD in late november. the GC arrived in april while we were in china with AP on one of my rotations, and we didn't see it till june. in july i noticed that it was marked taiwan (ROC), so we sent it in for a replacement in early august. this case went to MSC and was transferred to CSC for processing without interview. we returned the GC to CSC with correct docs to request replacement.

my wife's AP expires in january, and we expect to be in PRC dec-feb. anyone have a similar replacement request and idea of time required to get a corrected card?

If your wife has been approved for a Greencard then she can not use AP to travel. You must make an infopass appointment at yur local office and request a I-551 stamp in her passport, you will need to take evidence that you have filed the I-90 to get a corrected Greencard with you. It can take upto 6 months to get a replacement.
