AOS and EAD simultaneous filing

Hi,

I have a couple of questions that are concerning me regarding the filing for AOS /EAD. I notice that you can file for EAD electronically. Now if you do that, does that mess up the simultaneous filing? Should I stick to paper for both?

Secondly, if I come in via JFK and get a temporary EAD stamp on the back of the I-94 will this in anyway affect when I can file? can I file while the temporary one is still valid?

Concerning electronic filing, the instructions for the I-765 say:

Adjustment Applicant--©(9). File your EAD application with a copy of the receipt notice or other evidence that your Form I-485, Application for Permanent Residence, is pending. You may file Form I-765 together with your Form I-485.

These instructions are the same whether you file on paper or electronically. What they mean is that, if you are filing electronically, you will first need to file for AOS (I-485) and wait for the NOA1 to be received. This will just delay your EAD application. It is much more efficient for you to file the I-765 on paper in the same envelope as your AOS application.

To answer your 2nd question, yes you can file while the temporary EAD is valid.
