HI EVERYONE. MY HUSBAND'S APPOINTMENT IS ON SEPT 22ND IN JUAREZ, MEXICO. WE ARE REALLY EXCITED!!! BUT I NEED YOUR HELP. I WISH TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW MUCH MONEY WE ARE GOING TO SPEND ON THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND IF THE CONSULATE WILL CHARGE US ANYTHING ELSE WHILE HE IS THERE. FOR EXAMPLE.. ON THE GREEN CARD FEE OR ANYTHING SIMILAR? IVE HEARD SO MANY STORIES LIKE FOR EXAMPLE THAT THEY WILL CHARGE HIM 700 DOLLARS SO THEY CAN GIVE HIM HIS GREEN CARD IN THE MAIL. I JUST WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS NEXT? WILL THEY CHARGE US ANYTHING THERE? CAN HE IMMEDIATELY CROSS TO THE USA IF HE IS APPROVED? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU... WISH US LUCK...

Good luck on your interview, it's not too far away. I'm still waiting for mine. Regarding your questions on payments:

If you paid the fees at NVC, then there shouldn't be any additional fees at the embassy. There is no $700 dollar greencard fee. Where did you see or hear that? Even replacing a lost or damaged greencard is not that expensive! Be careful of people in Ciudad Juarez that will want to charge you to look over your paperwork, or sell you things you won't need at the embassy.

No one can really tell you beforehand how much the medical will exactly cost. If he needs any vaccinations, it will be more expensive, and the cost will depend on which ones he needs. The minumum you can expect to pay though is about $150 and any vaccines would be added to that. For the medical, this is what your husband will need:

Each applicant must present the following documentation at time of medical appointment:

Visa Appointment Letter.Passport.Required fee of U.S. D. $135.00 covering only the medical examination. No additional fee will be charged if supplemental examinations are required. Except for DNA testing, it will require that petitioner/applicant cover the expenses. “V” VISA APPLICANTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE ANY VACCINATION.The cost of medical exams for those under 15 years of age will be U.S.D. $55.00.A 10% tax (I.V.A.) must be added to the cost of the medical exam.It is not necessary to bring a photo for your medical exam, it will be provided by the medical clinic without charge.

For the interview, take evidence of your relationship. This would include pictures, emails, letters, phone logs, etc. Also, take additional copies of everything you have sent to USCIS and NVC. And if your husband does get approved, he will most likely get the visa that same day. So he will be able to cross into the U.S. immediately. Good Luck!

P.S. If you need info on where to stay check out this website. There are a bunch of people with September appointments on that site.
